Praise Report!!!

Barnabas speaks..

Disorganized. Not bonded. Un-united. That was what Barnabas was a year ago. Cell members came as and when they like for cell group, and when cell outings were organized, no one would be interested in going for it. Attendance went down and sometimes, there would only be a couple of members attending bible study.

Praise God for the breakthrough during YPM camp, the members were really enthusiastic and it was the start of a UNITED cell group. The camp was the 1st time everyone gelled, played many ice breakers, shared lame jokes and tricks, go through thick and thin and spent meaningful time with each other. It’s amazing how they looked forward to cell time every alternate weekend and tried to keep that time free not just to listen to the word of God but to fellowship with their fellow cell members. There is more interaction now and the love in this group definitely has increased.

Thank God for faithful people like Betty, Becky and Ee Foo who has put in a lot of effort bringing the group together and praying consistently for the members. Continue to keep us in prayer as Barnabas goes thru another growing phase. Nothing is impossible with God and we’re entrusting Barnabas into His hands!

Benjamin speaks..

We just want to praise the Lord for all that he has done in Benjamin. Since we have parted with Daniel, our group is still going strong numerically and spiritually. Thank God also for the wisdom and foresight he has given to Matthew and Serene to lead Benjamin. We are following the vision of seeing Benjamin to be “A People Prepared".

Praise God that Benjamin has bonded closer together since YPM camp last year through a series of activities like CNY visitation and sports outing. We also want to thank God for a dedicated and willing core group who works and plans for activities despite the few meetings as it is difficult to find a time to accommodate everyone. We wish to see more numbers in Benjamin so that we will be able to give birth to another new group sometime this year!

Prayer Pointers for Benjamin!!!

1. Good follow up. Pray that every newcomer will be followed up. May the gospel be shared and new believers given proper bible study. Pray that every member be equipped to lead bible study with the 6 booklets.2. For every member to discover their gifts and serve the Lord faithfully.3. For every core member discipled to become Leaders.

4. Core group to have common goal.

5. Heart of evangelism. To constantly seek out the lost within our circle of influence

6. Welcoming to newcomers. As members grow more comfortable with one another, we will not appear unaccepting to newcomers.

Praise Report!!

Calvin Speaks..

Praise God for all He has done in Daniel! Indeed, we are only made possible because of His grace and His providence.
Daniel group was officially formed around July of 2006, and as such is the youngest group in YPM.
We started off with a regular attendance of only a handful of regular members, but since then we have grown to a Life Group with a regular attendance of about 10 youth. Indeed, we have seen the group grow more bonded with each other, and members are taking the effort to attend cell activities.
However, we do not want to stop here, indeed the reason we exist is to help each and every individual grow one more step closer to Christ-likeness. We are only starting to see members take a greater interest and seriousness in spiritual matters, but we know that it is definitely gonna improve over the next few months.
We pray that you will continue to keep Guang, Siew Ho, Mel, myself, and the group in prayer. Thanks, and God bless.

Melissa Speaks…..

Although Daniel has just started out not long ago, I want to thank God for blessing our group abundantly!
From a group of shy teens, they have become so much more open to each other and try to come to YPM more regularly. Furthermore, they seem to be more curious about the word of God! Their enthusiasm is really encouraging! Praise God for moving in their lives as we try to build them up spiritually.
Thank God for the core group, that though we are only 4, we are able to help one another and do various stuff for the interests of the cell.
May God be glorified through the lives of every member and may we continue to grow in quality and in quantity for his kingdom! :)

DANIEL – GRP OF THE WEEK!!

1) To see members not conforming to the standards and desires of the world. That members be influencers and not the influenced.
That their lives will be totally committed to God and that they will place God as their no. 1 priority in life and look to Him for decisions and answers.

2) A closer relationship to God
· Prayer: Commit everything to God in conversational prayer
· Word: Hunger for the Word, Also an increased belief in the power of the word.

· That members will take the initiative to love each other

Praise Report!!!

joseph speaks..

For quite some time, Joseph had been relatively stagnant in terms of numbers and spiritual growth.
Amazingly, over the pass few months our numbers have been growing and we would constantly see pre-believers joining us for our cell groups. The core group prayed for encouragement within the cell group and slowly we started to see the cell group becoming more encouraging.
We thank God for both the numerical and spiritual growth of Joseph and at this present point in time; we are in the process of multiplying group Joseph. We are at a crossroads where there are both old and new Christians in the cell group and we are struggling to cater to both parties. So do keep us in prayer.

All glory be to God

Joshua speaks..

Group Joshua was birthed about 3 years ago which later multiiplied into Joshua, Timothy and Barnabas. Thank God for his providence throughout the years and for blessing the group with an Asst Leader like Jesslyn who has made an impact in the lives of the ladies. Thank God for the people in the group as well, each and every individual!

Thank God for keeping this wonderful group of people who have been coming faithfully week after week togethe. It's really a joy to see the lives of my group members changing for the better with time and being more involved in serving within the church. It's also encouraging to see many of them becoming more interested in the word of God.

Thank God for keeping this group together, though it has a diverse mix of people, they are still able to communicate and forge relationships with each other though there's still room for improvement to deepen their relations.

Praying for JOSHUA this week!!!
Pls pray…

1. For members to be deeply rooted in the Word of God and passionate for God.

2. For members to be more connected with each other and not just ones that they are familiar with.

3. For members to rise up and serve in various capacities.

Praise Report!!!

Levi speaks..

Levi was formed at the end of 2001, things weren’t smooth sailing initially. The members dreaded attending cell group and we were not bonded at all. Thank God for members who were willing to speak out, give suggestions and express how they were feeling, under the leadership of Jon and Kamun, our cell got closer and you can feel the love in the group.

Things got more challenging after Jon and Ka mun left, and during camp last yr, it felt as if Levi was starting all over again, with new members forming the group and just a couple of cell members to support this group.

Thank God, by His grace and love, the new members had fun during the camp, and some,not all of them have been coming regularly for YPM. It hasn’t been easy, but we believe that God’s gonna work in this grpoup this yr!

We also want to give God all glory for the good results the poly students and ‘O’ Levels students achieved recently.

Praying for LEVI this week!!!
Pls pray…

1. That Levi be able to cater to the large age group that are present in the group

2. That the girls in the cell be able to have a mentor. Presently, Joanne has stepped forth to fill this role. Do pray for her to have the Lord's guidance.

3. That Levi be able to raise up more core members. Presently there is only Melvyn, Cooper and Aaron.

4. Levi presently has many influxes of new members. These members are undecided, as in they have yet to commit fully to attending YPM.

5. Pray for the leaders and core of Levi, that we may learn to manage the cell with the Lord guiding our paths.

6. Pray for the members, that they may receive the spiritual norishment they need; and for those who provide it, to have their bible studies "God-breathed"

7. Pray for cliques to be broken, so that new people may find it comfortable in the group.

Praise Report!!

Petra Speaks…

Praise God for Petra! We have gone from strength to strength in the past few years and members have noted that we are more united as a cell group, especially after last year’s camp. Average monthly attendance has increased from 8 in October to 10.75 in January. Aside from this, members have also said that they feel more willing to share their experiences and problems in cell group and have a sense of belonging. The camaraderie in Petra is nothing short of God’s grace, for we have learnt to love and care for one another more, especially in the past year or so. Conflicts merely serve to foster cohesion within the group rather than cause cracks that would undermine the dynamics of Petra. We have been encouraged by the many that have joined our family and the support that can be found in mutual prayers and encouragement.

It is truly heartwarming to see members grow in the Lord or see them come to Christ, accepting the gift of salvation. Indeed, we thank God for His favour upon us. Though we may not know what God has in store for us in future, we trust in our Provider for bountiful blessings and greater guidance! All glory be unto Him!

Praise Report!
Joanna speaks….
Once again God has shown me what is impossible with men, is possible with Him. On my 2nd week into my job, my manager assigned me to co-work with my senior on this bulk recruitment project. My senior, emphasized how important this project is, and how we cannot afford to fail. I felt excited, yet much pressured. Being a greenhorn at sourcing for interviewers, I kinda just ‘anyhow’ assume and shortlist candidates for the interview. My instincts told me that these people aren’t really customer oriented, and a gut feeling that they may not excel.

On tt day of the interview, only 2 out of 12 candidates were selected for the job. I was expected to haf at least 10 selected. That day, what could go wrong, just went wrong, and there were tears in my eyes at the end of the project. I knew, I hadn’t trusted God, nor had I relied on His strength.

I was given a 2nd chance. This time round, I fell sick on Tuesday, which means, I only had Friday and Monday to arrange for and interview, and Wednesday to get all their necessary documents ready for Thursday. I was really really scared, I literally prayed everywhere I am, and while I was doing QT on Wednesday night, I was reminded that only God can do the impossible. I prayed that my candidates may find favour in the eyes of the interviewers. I decided to let go of the burden, and trust that God is in control. Even if I fail this time, I know He has a purpose and a reason for it. I was prepared for the worst.

Being very competitive, my senior constantly reminded me that she has shortlisted more candidates than I have, made me worry even more, because she’s supposed to have better foresight than I have. On the day of the interview, my senior’s candidates went in first. Out of the 12-15 that she sent for interview, only 2 got selected. Out of the 5 I shortlisted, 3 of them got selected.

Praise God! Because I know that He answered my prayers, and it’s only when I am weak, that His strength was made perfect. I know God’s hand was upon this whole project because despite taking an MC on Tuesday, working on even more projects – in church and work, the results proved even better than when I had more time to shortlist more candidates.

Krystal speaks….
Sometime last week, my classmates and I were supposed to edit a Sec 1 orientation video. However, the school com couldn’t work and I volunteered my home computer so I can edit it. Classmate A gave me the bag which contained Classmate B’s video camera, her thumbdrive and the cd with all the pics – vital stuff. I was really scared that something bad might happen. So, I took the bus with some other classmates and I LEFT THE BAG IN THE BUS!!!

It’s just so me to leave things behind as I wasn’t used to carrying anything in my arms. SO I just left the bag on the seat and only realized that I had left it behind after I got off the bus!! You know that feeling when you realise something fatally important and then your stomach knots up really badly and you feel hot and cold inside at the same time? Yeah that was what I felt. Then this is when I really surprised myself. I actually CONSIDERED leaving the bag and calling my classmate to bring it today. Then I like mentally slapped myself and was like 'what on earth are you THINKING you ****** GIRL?!?!?!?!' Immediately, I raaaannnn after the bus. PRAISE GOD that it stopped at the red light. I went in front of the bus on the pavement and was practically dancing to the bus driver to let me back on. At first the bus driver just ignored me, I think he thought I was trying to get in for a ride. Then I was praying and praying that God will ease the driver's heart and let me get on! And he did!!!! and I was like 'sorry uncle I left my bag' and ruushedddd up the steps and just snatched up my bag. Then when I went down I was like 'thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou' to the driver.

Praise be to God man. as I was like crossing the road I was just going like 'thank you Lord, amen Lord, praise your name' I didn’t know what else I could say to thank him for being my conscience to make me run, for being the one who made the driver relent... and I just reeaally pray that God would make me a less forgetful person =S so yeah (: this is what i want to thank God for :)

Ee Ling speaks….

The previous semester (Aug-Dec 2006) had indeed been a trying one for me. Faced with an ever increasing workload and looming deadlines, I found myself in a state of perpetual stress as I often had to complete at least 2 textbooks every single week for the entire semester without respite. Also, my mother had an operation in October and needed to be on one month’s MC after that. This operation came at my busiest time in the semester and my family members were quite worried but we committed it to God in prayer. Praise God, the operation went smoothly and my mom recovered quickly!

In retrospect, the previous semester may not have been easy juggling with the demands of school, family and ministry but for every worry I had, God was there to hear it out. For every tear that rolled from my eyes, God was there to comfort me. He not only sustained me through a difficult semester but also sent people along the way to encourage me. God is a gracious Provider, providing for our needs. When I received my results two weeks back, my CAP score went up! This would have not been possible if not for God’s grace. Truly, our God is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider!

Let’s PRAY!! It’s the month of ‘SERVICE’!!

John 15:5-8
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 1. a)pray that we will do everything in Christ, through Christ and for Christ
b) pray also for fruitfulness among us, the YPMers, His disciples - in our walk with Him and in the areas He has put us in.
c) If Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches, then we already have all His victory and power to overcome whatever situation we are facing!
So believe and claim God's promises for our lives/ the difficulties we are facing.
Psalm 31:24
Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

2. a) For this new year, let's put put trust and hope in Him. Let's turn our eyes upon Him! Commit this year unto His hands. YPMers shall be strong for God. He holds our future in His hands.

Matthew speaks…

Praise the Lord for a good 2006 and a BETTER 2007! Because of the faithfulness of YPMers praying at Friday Prayer Meetings and at home through YPMPrayerlink, we have seen and testify of God’s hand at work. Praise God that Aunty Janet has completed her chemo and there are no more signs of cancer. Thank God for giving YPMers a heart for outreach such that we see newcomers almost every Saturday! Thank God drawing the LGs closer, especially through YPM Camp and countless times for holding the rain back til our outdoor activities were over.

God’s Goodness shines through in 2006 and we’re believing God for a year of Harvest and Fruitfulness in 2007. We’re believing God to take away barriers of multiplication, our services to have the tangible presence of God and many more to come to salvation and become disciples of Jesus Christ! For Prayer Min, we’ll be more visible during YPM service and will have a training to increase the depth of prayer for our members. We’re also searching for a suitable new name. Everyone is called to Prayer. Not just to pray, but to pray IN FAITH. It’s gonna be a fruitful year ahead!

Prayer Pointers
Month of Jan, we'll be praying under the theme of SERVING. For Feb and Mar, we'll be praying for each of the groups every week and invite them down to join us for that week. Let's be more creative in our praying styles when the younger ones join us.

Pray for YPMers to have A Serving Aspiration
1. That they may know that they are God's workmanship, each having been given a gift to use for the Lord.

Tai Yong speaks….
Kwan Chin was telling me one morning that he just felt God calling him to evangelise to this cleaning Aunty. But he never really did that. So we decided to go and find Aunty after school that day. I had had a bad fever throughout the day. And as we searched for Aunty, God was telling me that one of Aunty’s sons had some sort of sickness. I wasn’t even sure that God was telling me that. Perhaps the fever had burned through the whole brain.

When we found Aunty, Kwan Chin started to talk to her. (In Cantonese, Kwan Chin’s a Malaysian scholar, same as Mei Yan.) Found out that one of her sons had a growth at the side. Then God told me to pray for her. That her son would get healed. And we did just that. I don’t know the end of the story. Just that the son’s operation went fine. When I left AJ, the son was still recovering. Perhaps I’ll find out some other day (alternatively, when I get to heaven.)

One or two weeks after we had evangelized to Aunty and prayed for her son, I came into cell pleasantly surprised, for Aunty was there with Jie Hau and Kwan Chin. And she was accepting Christ. So strange, isn’t it. We spent so much time praying for the school telling as many as we could about Christ and so unexpectedly, it’s the Aunty who ultimately turned to God. God has very interesting plans at times. For who has understood the mind of the Lord and who has instructed Him as His counselor? – Isaiah 40:13

I had received a wedding invitation from a friend. Besides being invited to the wedding, I was asked to be the emcee for the day. I agreed upon request. After agreeing to be the emcee, I realized I do not have any nice clothes to wear for the wedding.

So I prayed that the Lord will provide me with the clothings. Two months ago, a brother from church told me that he was gonna give me some clothes. Initially, after he told me that, after a while,I didn’t receive anything, I thought well..maybe there wasn’t any clothes for me.

Just a week or so ago, this brother came to me. I was blessed with 5 shirts and a pants. And all 5 shirts and pants fitted me to a T. It was as if those shirts and pants were made for me. The clothes were made of top quality silk and and each shirt would have cost at least $150, but they were given to me and it was just amazing how God planned everything.

God provides not just a shelter and food for us, even the clothes that we wear. He is our Jehovah Jireh. Praise the Lord!

An Open Door
I remember once watching a flurry of secret activity going back and forth between the President and Vice President in my old company. My office was at the end of a hallway where I could see both of their doors. They kept going into each other's office and closing the door for hours on end. Something was up but I didn't know what and I was SO curious. I would have liked to be a fly on the wall inside that office.

As I stared at the closed door I felt the Lord spoke to me. I was an "outsider" in the plans of these two executives and I could only become an "insider" through their invitation. The Lord seemed to say that his office door - his throne room, was set up a different way. Anyone could come into his inner circle who wanted to. The key to his door was having a desire to press in. Working your way up not important; job titles irrelevant; knowing the right people unnecessary: he would let ANYONE in who truly wanted to be there.

Just think about sitting around in God's throne room listening to his plans and strategies and watching the inner workings of all of creation. Think about being right there when he says; "I need someone for an assignment" and your hand flies up first. Jesus made this possible when he removed the barrier between us and the Father. Hebrews 4:16 say; "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace."

YOU control how closely you sit to the Father's throne. You don't have to wish to be a fly on his heavenly wall. You are not an outsider unless you choose to be. See the sign on his door: "WELCOME, Please Come In."

Here's this week's PRAISE REPORT!

Shu min speaks….
I was contemplating whether or not to send in a praise report,but when joanna msn-ed me this morning asking if i had any, I knew it was a confirmation, so here I am!

I'm currently working full-time and studying part-time, so I don't have much time to study. But when I started this course for my degree, I constantly remembered God's love for me and since I’m His beloved, He sure want me to do well one what, right? I seldom worried (but I did get mad at crap proj mates teehee) and i almost always had that calm assurance in my heart that God will see me thru, regardless of whether I’ve been an obedient daughter to Him.

I've been studying for about 1.5 years now. I have a good sister-in-Christ in my course, and before every exam, we have a ritual of sorts. While other classmates are doing last minute cramming, we pray and thank God for seeing us through. And then we take a picture :) haha.

Out of 5 of the 6 modules taken so far, I’ve been scoring distinctions and many will know Shumin isn't a distinction kinda girl except with Jesus. For my last module, News Studies, I didn't really attend class regularly (which is bad, very bad!!) and the lecturer was smart. He gave exam tips thru-out those classes, and when I attended the last lecture (everyone knows exam tips are given out during last lecture that's why attendance is almost always full), he said with a smirk "For those of you who've been attending, you know the topics that are going to appear in the exam. Good luck!" :\ so I studied blindly for the exam, just hoping for at least a pass. But I told God, You've always seen me through. Continue to see me through in my academics so that my results will bring glory to who You are. and tadah
a Distinction in News Studies which is impossible by my efforts, but an act of love from my Jesus.

i think the point is knowing that you are so loved and adored by the King. What blessings would He withold? None. We just need to accept His love.

*The more one learns the more one becomes convince its all about Christ. We sing the song,"Its all about Jesus ... " and we know it. But do we believe it?

I did badly for my exams, *I* should have studied harder. *I* should not have slacked off. *I* should have paid more attention in class.

Feeling unloved? Why do *I* not have a more pleasant character that attracts people? Why am *I* not better looking? Why do *I* not have talents? Why am *I *not born in that family?

Did something stupid? Why did *I* let circumstances force me into it? Why did *It* have to happen? How will *People* see me now?

Where is Christ in all these? With the *I *and the *It *and the *People *one cannot help but cry out. One cannot help but feel like a loser. These things conspire to bring us down. The devil's tactics are always the same in this regard. To bring you into destruction all he needs to do is to point you to yourself, circumstances and people and you will naturally take over destroying yourself through condemnation. And this is what the Law of Moses did, it condemned all as none could match up - 2 Cor. 3:9. The devil has a legal right to use the Law of Moses against you if you forgot what victory Christ has given us on the cross. Everything that points to self will lead to disappointment and loss. It is inevitable in this fallen world. So even positive thinking without Christ will disappoint.

However when we look to Christ in all circumstances we raise above our situations. It is such that all who looks to the cross becomes empowered to confront the goliaths in our lives. Do not try to practice the fruits of the Spirit, learn from the teachings of the Holy Spirit in you that points to Christ and the natural process is the bearing of the fruits of the Spirit. Do not discipline yourself to love, joy, peace. patience .... dwell in Christ and he who walks with him will become like him.

I mentioned the tactics of the devil for self-destruction is to point you to self. Conversely for the building up of the believer into powerful Christians the Holy Spirit points you to Christ. Working harder to score better marks, dressing up to look better is good but without Jesus things of the flesh will not last. We can keep trying to use self-effort and keep going in circles till the world wears us down.

Children of the Most High God, know that you are more then conquerors. Be different from the people of this world. We are the salt of the earth, we should not decay with the world but we should preserve the world. We should not go bland with the world but we give it the saltiness. Where people see doom in the situation see Christ at work for he is always at work in you. And in Christ the outcome can only be victory. Maybe not now, but all things orcharstrate to give the big grand victory in the end.

The devil is fervent in wanting to show you, You. The Holy Spirit is fervent in pointing you to Christ. That is why we must heed the Holy Spirit's voice. That is why we must fight to always put the Christ where we put the *I*. As Peter looked to Jesus and walked on water, likewise should our focus be. Not more methods or materials but more of Jesus in everything. This is the way to a victorious lifestyle.

Praise Report!

Estella speaks….

These past few months have been a very trying period for me. I felt like I was being attacked from all sides. My schoolwork was stressful and I felt bogged down by the load of it. I faced difficulty in relationships as I felt like friends who were dear to me were drifting away. I struggled even in ministry as I tried to find answers as to where God wanted me to be. All in all I felt like life had become a constant battle and I grew weary and discouraged.

Amazingly, as I look back now, I see God working in my life in many ways. He spoke to me through songs that suddenly popped into my mind out of nowhere. He encouraged me through sermons and messages about suffering and pain. He sent friends to counsel me and pray for me. He assured me that though life was tough, He was with me and His hand would always uphold me.

Though I have yet to resolve many of these issues, I approach everything with a better attitude. I am not perfect and sometimes I still grumble about how miserable I am. But I know that He is ever-faithful and He won’t love me any less. I look with hope to the day when God grants me the answers I seek and I can bring you yet another praise report.

Matthew Speaks...
It was the day before Deepavali. I was with my parents at Vivocity and I could feel my body start to feel chilly and it start to ache all over. I knew I was getting sick. Getting sick on a public holiday is not good news. So I was gonna fight it! I said when I get home, I'll take my Bible out to read and pray for myself to be healed!

I arrived home, had dinner, obeyed my mom to eat 2 paracetamols and 4 VitC tablets, had my bath and took out my bible to read. I just began to read the passage aloud and though it had nothing to do with healing, the words seem to renew my spirit. I continued to read aloud beyond the allotted passage and received the 'words of life' into my spirit. Then, I laid hands on my head by faith and prayed for God to heal me. I rebuked any spirit of infirmity or sickness and received God's healing for me by faith. And began to thank God for healing me before I saw any result.

My God is a Healer! That night, I perspired like never before. My whole bed was wet but I woke up fresh and full of the Holy Spirit! My mom did say that my forehead still felt warm but I felt like something was sustaining me on the inside, giving me strength to go through the day. Thank God! There is power in the name of Jesus!

Samson speaks….
I had attended a tutorial and left a library book in the classroom. I did not realise until about 2 hours after my tutorial had ended when I was back at home. I quickly took the car and rushed down to school to take a look. To my horror, the book wasn't in the classroom. I went to the library to check if anyone had returned the book but it returned a null. The library book wasn't borrowed by me but was a friend's and I was supposed to help return it. I messaged my friend about it and said that I would bear whatever cost that was needed. What made matters worse was the cost of the book. It was retailing at US$100 online! *gasps* I wasn't prepared to pay so much but if need be I would have to.

I prayed to God along the way to school and even back at home. I was panicky yet I felt the peace of God and tried to put the problem behind me.

Later at night, my friend told me the library sent an email stating that the book has been found! Praise God for His grace!

Joanna speaks….
I’ve just quit my job. It seems as if I’ve been in the company for a few years when it’s been only 3 months. I’ve learnt a lot of leadership and management stuff in this company.

The amazing thing is how God never seems to stop paving my future for me. Many things I many not understand, like why my shop closed, or why I’ve to be in this company and then quit and join another company, but He has shown me that I never need to worry bout what I’ll do next. Cos when it’s time to move on, job opportunities just suddenly seem to run to you.

Many of my colleagues have quit, some earlier den me, one the same time with me. But with the grace of God, I’ve gotten a job so much faster then they have. With such little qualifications, it may seem impossible to get a good job, but God always open doors! So..continue to trust in Him, cos God never fails us! J

Prayer Pointers
1.Self-discipline in terms of delayed gratification

Many young people want instant and immediate results, answers and gratification. Their mentality might be 'play now, suffer later', or 'who cares? I’m living for myself', etc.

Pray that they will be disciplined to set aside time for God first, rather than for themselves. They will also be disciplined when it comes to revising for their exams or doing work. They will focus on doing what is right, e.g. by studying instead of playing computer games.

Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.
Titus 1:8
2. Trust that God will look after us. Thank Him for meeting our needs.

Don't take God for granted. Thank Him for providing and sheltering us.

What does intercessory prayer means?? How do we become intercessors? I’ve always wanted to be an intercessor with many testimonies to tell, yet sometimes, I feel I’m not sensitive enough to intercede at the specific time.

Well, my 1st intercessory came a few weeks ago. My dad went to China for a mission trip.2 days after he left, my mum asked me to pray for him during family altar. I didn’t know what to pray because I wasn’t fluent praying in mandarin. So I thought, “aiya, just pray whatever comes out la” I prayed that God will send thousands of angels to protect them. The nxt day, I had a dream. I dreamt that there were people after my dad. I shrugged it off when I woke up. But kept thinking of it on my way to work. So I thought,better just pray for my dad’s safety.

When my dad came back, he shared bout how they were always putting their luggages into different cars all the time because they were being watched. And it so happened around the same time I prayed. So thank God!! God protected my dad and Uncle Peng Kin thru intercessors like me!!! J

Prayer Pointers

We'll be focusing in on reaching a generation that is lost. Jesus said, "Do not say 3 more months and then the harvest. Look at the fields, they are white for harvest. Only the labourers are few." The harvest is NOW!

The Holy Spirit is convicting lives and hearts like never before.. It is clear to all that the end is near. Earthquakes, floods, war and other natural disasters. The End-time harvest is here and after that, the end will come. I believe the Spirit of God is also moving in individual hearts to come to Jesus. We must pray that our hearts are ready to reap the harvest.

So….let’s….

1. Pray for a hunger to see the lost come to Jesus. Pray for willing labourers.

2. Pray for divine appointments.

3. Pray for November outreach.

well...it's a lil late to post the past few prayer pointers..but here's some praise report to edify and encourage u guys!! keep on praying!!

Matt speaks….
I want to thank God because He is God My Healer. I fell on a Monday playing soccer and injured my wrist. That night, my wrist swelled up and I could hardly use it at all. I prayed to the Lord, "I want to be a testimony for You through this.. You said that You are a Healer.." and I prayed hard that God would heal me by tomorrow morning.

Sometimes, we try in our own ways to 'help God' bring glory to His name. That night, I could hardly sleep because of the pain. The next morning, I went to the Bone-Fitter sinseh to fix my wrist. I went through a very memorable period of eXCRUCIATING pain and in about a week, my wrist was alright. Thank God the x-ray showed no fractures.
The story is told about how the shepherd would break the legs of his sheep so that he'd stop struggling. Then, the shepherd would nurse the sheep back to health so that the sheep can learn to listen to his voice and love his shepherd. God not only healed my wrist, He also healed my soul. I love my Lord because He is my Healer.

I was the one leading the segment “Pray for friends and relatives…” for Everyday!As it was my 1st time leading such prayers, I was really scared and afraid that I’ll be leading with my own strength so I decided to fast for a week.

Besides opportunities to reach out to my colleagues, just a few days ago, as usual, I was knocking on doors and happened to chat with this particular resident for a longer period of time and I found out that he just accepted Christ but isn’t attending service anywhere cos he didn’t know where to go. Without hesitation, I invited him to our church. He shld be coming anytime!! :D On that day, I spoke to another lady who happened to be moving to Haig road by the end of the month, hasn’t been going to church for awhile after she got married. I invited her to visit our church anytime she’s free.

Praise God for such opportunities. Without Him, these opportunities would not have been opened! Keep praying for open doors!! These friends you invite, may not even be someone close to you. God open doors!

Radical Conference!!

hi guys!it's been sometime again..since we last had any posts updated here.well...regardless of whether prayer meeting is on,i PROMISE,i'll try and post some updates here....or watsoever.

So..this week,most of us will be going for the Radical Conference!!!are u ready???are ur hearts prepared??

hmm...nope?nvm...here are some prayer pointers tt may help us to focus,and see God moving.yeah!!

1. Pray for the smooth running of Radical Conference. Expected crowd: 1000. Pray for the organizing Committee from COS BT for supernatural strength and composure in the midst of stress.

2. Pray for the Presence of God. The Holy Spirit will touch and change lives.

3. Pray that Worship will take on a deeper meaning for YPMers through the Conference!

Praise Report!
Joanna speaks…
It has been a trying 2 weeks before Labour Day. Even tho i had new
stock for my shop, I had wasted 2 weeks prior to that. Hence, i wasn't able to
earn enough to pay for my rent this month. I kept praying and 'psychoing' myself that God will provide, He will lead, and everything's in control. However deep in my heart, I knew that I haven't really believed what I've been telling myself and I was striving,
expecting God to do things MY way.

On Sunday, sales was still terrible and I couldn't even make like 200 dollars more to cover rent. My account at that time only had 500++ when i needed to pay like 1000+++. But I met up with Doreen on Sunday after work, and besides supping, I was just sharing about how I felt, what I was going through. Thank God, that fellowship encouraged
me greatly.

On 1st May, i decided not to worry, and I committed everything to God. I
could see myself presenting my shop(like it's some miniature project) to
God and I stopped worrying how God's gonna provide for me. Praise
God! Sales was surprisingly better than others’. I sold a few highly priced items while they barely sold 1 or 2 items. I’m taking this opportunity to testify God's goodness and God's gracious intervention. Let go and let God!

PRAYER MEETING – 14 April 2006
Praise Report!

Last week, I was supposed to arrange 4 sessions of briefings for the various teams from two different depts. I arranged it to be on 10 & 12 Apr mornings, 2 sessions each day. But the rooms will only be available in the afternoons and so I happily took the afternoon slots before I checked my boss' diary.

When I realized my boss can’t make it on 12 April noon, I cancelled the reservation and booked for 18 April. Then, blur me sent out the notification to 2 the departments telling them it'll be on 10 & 12 Apr instead of10&18Apr! I totally forgot that I booked the room on 18 Apr!! In the end, I booked the room for 10, 12 & 18 Apr and the booking fees are expensive! I didn’t know which to cancel and my boss was super busy, and I felt helpless. I decided to pray. I prayed real hard and on Thursday morning, a manager from another department called to say that he couldn’t make it on 12 April! The same day my boss couldn’t make it!!

Thank God I had the room for 18apr & my boss can make it for all 4 briefings...yay! God is good! :)

Prayer Pointers ( Listen Carefully!!)

1 . Communion: Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf. (1Cor 10:17)

The thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy (Jn10:10).

But the Christian learns to give because for God so loved the world, He gave.

Flattery... Spreading rumours....
But the Christian bears true testimony. We stands up for the truth and stop the proliferation of rumours and lies. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Rev 19:10).

Praise Report!

The week before I was to fly off to China, I had a lot of errands and stuff to complete. Making a new passport was one of them. I realised however, that if I do not post the application form by a certain date I wouldn’t get my passport on time. It was still too late though. I sent the form by mail on Monday after 2pm.

As days passed, I totally forgot that I had to call up Immigration to check if I could go down to collect it on Friday, latest Saturday. I forgot. So Monday came, and I hadn’t the time to go collect my passport. Was super worried that they will not even allow me to cross and board the plane. So I was praying hard. I told my bro to pray hard for me also.

Thank God, I went and I’m back safely. Although the immigration in China did look at me a little suspiciously and asked a few questions, everything went smoothly. Even the weather was good on days when I had to walk to the place and bring my stocks back. Praise God!

Praise Report!

Last week, I had to direct a post-modern scene from King Lear as part of my homework. Even after reading notes on post modernism and King Lear,I was still blur about combining the 2. Post modernism is a big chunk of various weird theories put together. I only have a vague idea of what it is.
God dropped a nursery rhyme into my head - "this old man, he played one....". Who would sing nursey rhymes, except children and mothers? It’s strange that I suddenly thought of this rhyme while driving. I decided to use this rhyme and after studying it closely, it actually connotes dark meanings. I flipped open my King Lear text, glanced thru it and found a perfect scene.

Presentation day, I was at a loss for words when asked to explain how my scene is post modernistic,and told only the title and how I was going to incorporate the rhyme into the scene. God only gave me the idea, but He didn't explain. But it seemed like when I gave my lecturer the title for my piece, she understood. Perhaps that was why she didn't push me to explain further.
Then I directed the scene. At the end of it, she praised me by saying it was "good". Thank God for His fantastic idea!

After seeing how the scene turned out, I realised why it was post modern. I have completed my homework wonderfully by God's grace and help! All glory to God!
I felt very happy after that! :) Looking forward to more God-given ideas! They are perfect! And I had fun doing it!

this week's praise report...

Isaac Chong speaks...
My primary school good friend committed suicide on 3rd March. Two weeks prior to his death, we saw each other in a pool parlour. We hadn’t seen each other since 12. I was someone who’s shy to invite people to church and one who lack confidence in sharing the gospel, afraid of saying something wrong. Lacking courage, I missed the opportunity to share with him.

I was doubly shocked to hear he wasn’t a Christian and he had leaped from my old house. It was then that I got a wake up call and realized the importance of sharing the gospel. I felt that God was speaking to me through him, urging me to make disciples and spread the gospel. His voice was further confirmed after sharing my experience with Estella a few days later. That week , she happened to visit the prayer link blog and after reading the blog, it occurred to her that the post on 7/3 by Moses applied to me.

I read the post and was amazed by God’s timing. “The first step in obeying the great commission is to spread the gospel. If we can’t even pass the first hurdle, how could we expect ourselves to be used mightily by God?”– This struck me most and showed me that He was real and my faith increased. Because of all this ‘coincidences’, I know that when I try to share the gospel, God will put the necessary things for me to say.Praise God!

i realised tt with this blog, i can't really be creative because many things cannot be explained verbally...so..

this week's prayer pointers... is actually to pray for the next 4 commandments.

If u didn't get last week's prayer pointers, let me explain.

For 3 weeks,we're going into the 10 commandments as we felt tt in this modern day generation, the 10 commandments speaks more den wat is stated. Eg...do not worship any idols or make any idols bla bla bla...
yes, we do not worship in the form of statues anymore...

What has become our idols?- computer, celebrities (even christian celebs when we go all the way to the different concert to chase em, get thier pics or autograpghs) tt's a form of subconscious idoling. Let's pray agst tt yeah?

This week, we pray tt

1. We'll rest on the Sabbath.

2. To honor our parents.
we may be obeying em on the outside, but wat abt our hearts and minds? Does it agree with ur actions?

3. Do not commit murder
Do you hate someone? or are u cursing someone hoping tt this person who irritated u will get knocked down by a car or tt he or she will be ostracised? tt's murdering...

But do u also know..tt gossip kills?WHen u gossip, u're murdering. SO watch ur tongue

4.Last but not least, Do not commit adultery
haha..u're wondering,how is tt possible when we're christians eh?

Now,committing adultery doens't mean going to bed with someone who's married whatsoever.

Do u like someone who's attached and is wishing and hoping tt this person breaks up so u'll get a chance to be with him or her?

Or are u attached but still have a longing for someone other den ur partner?It cld be someone u once like and when u're attached, u still have feelings for this person? Well den, pray and ask God to help u to guard ur hearts. Since u've chosen ur current partner..LET GO of this other person no matter how much attention he or she is showering u.This person may have treated u better now tt u're attached so u wun get the wrong ideas anymore.So..pray tt no such thing happens yeah?

The other day, I was getting a little desperate about not having found a job even though I have ORDied for a week plus and have sent out my resume months before ORDing.

Then I realized that I have not prayed about finding a job before and I was inspired to pray. I realized that all these time, I was unmotivated and undisciplined and was depending on others to get me a job, so I asked sincerely for discipline as well. I was quite sleepy at that time because I was planning to sleep after that but suddenly I felt refreshed and could not sleep and went online to find jobs. I realized now that God had answered my prayer for discipline at that time and gave me the motivation to find a job and the next day, I got woken up by a call about a job which actually paid quite well for a temp job for someone with zero experience.

Praise the Lord and I didn’t just get one job I got 3! Actually, its a job with 2 vacancies. So I managed to get jobs for some of my friends also.

1. We are the light of the world (Matt 5:14). Pray that YPMers will boldly shine out the light of Christ that is in them. Pray that they will not veil it (2Cor 3:13) or cover it (Matt 5:15-16) but armed with good works, it will be clear to all that they belong to Jesus Christ.

2. Pray for YPMers to have fellowship with God(1Jn 1:6) and with each other. To walk in the light means to know and appropriate that Jesus' blood has cleansed them from all sin. To live in the freedom that no one and nothing can stop them from having fellowship with God

Before I went to the IGNITE conference on the last day, my back was aching and I had developed a persistent flu. However as I entered into the presence of His house, as I begin to worship Him in song, exalting him, I automatically felt better, as if the Holy Spirit was healing me with His gentle touch. I left aside all my burdens and focused on the Lord.

At the night conference, when Brent, the pastor from New Zealand, made an altar call, I was led by the Holy Spirit to go forth. Then, he told those who are feeling unwell to close their eyes, with one hand lifted up and the other on the eyes. I prayed intensely, trusting him wholeheartedly that He is a God of miracles and a healer, one whom can give vision to the blind and resurrect the dead. My mind was full of His promises and tears started welling up in my eyes. I opened my eyes, full of expectation, but nothing seemed to happen. For a spur of a moment I thought that God didn't heal me, but I put all my hope on Him again as I closed my eyes for the 2nd time. Then, I felt a surge of power rush through my body, it was explicit but I cannot explain it. I cried for joy knowing that God is real and He healed me. There and then, I declared that God healed me and I have renewed faith in Him.

I was really touched after this sign He did and now I am more assured of the triune God and have grown bolder to share my testimony to others about the goodness of Jesus. I can now place my every burden, anxiety as He is the my provider and comforter.

One Sunday when Dr Samuel said that to some of us the 5 loafs and 2 fishes are money and He warned us not to play games with God, burned in my heart because I realized that I had been doing just that. I owed God $100 that I promised Him. So immediately I rushed out of church, withdrew the last $100 I had and gave to missions.
Even though I didn’t have a single cent on me, someone decided to pay for my lunch 1st and I got back the $100 on the night itself! I also realized the magnificence of God’s timing because the next day I was placing adverts in the newspapers and even though my adverts were ‘ulu’ and small, the response was overwhelming.
I realized that if I had not obeyed God, He would have to do something drastic to catch my attention because He wanted me to understand that if I can’t give the $100 which is His anyway, then I would have placed money above Him and being a jealous yet merciful God, I would be stirred by some drastic consequence so that I can return to Him, my first love, before I sink deeper in disobedience because disobedience leads to a hardened heart. $100 have been coming back to me in different ways and so, the $100 given has multiplied!

A levels was a tough period for me and I found myself struggling to stay focused on my studies as well as on God. But God spoke to me through the song “In Christ Alone”. When I heard the song, I was reminded that my God is bigger than any obstacle I will ever face. He comforted me and told me that He would prosper me for His glory. I want go give thanks for my results. I also want to confess that all I have could never have been possible without God. I know if He is for me, no one and nothing can be against me. Even when I thought I could not, His grace remained sufficient to carry me through. I accept no credit for what I have achieved. I now truly understand what it means to say, “All glory and honour to God!”

“In Christ alone will I glory, though I could pride myself in battles won. For I’ve been blessed beyond measure and by His strength alone I overcome. And, oh, I could stop and count successes like diamonds in my hand. But those trophies could not equal, to the grace by which I stand. In Christ alone, I place my trust. And find my glory in the power of the cross. In every victory, let it be said of me, my source of strength, my source of hope, is Christ alone…”

The joy of sharing Christ lies in knowing his love for us

The Great Commission tells us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. The first step is naturally sharing Christ

Sharing Christ with others is a natural thing for the Christian who has experienced and is conscious of the his goodness. All Christians will experience Christ's love, providence and protection but not all remember or are conscious of it.

However sharing Christ does not come without a cost. In a world where we try to gain acceptance among peers we can do so without sounding irrational or being abnormal. Sharing Christ may make people think that we are one of those religious types. This article does not try to tell you how to be subtle in sharing the gospel or the steps to it. Instructions on how to share are good and gives many a platform to start. It also reminds us to include the important things like confessing we are sinners in need of a Saviour and the cross being the unmerited gift of Salvation. It also guides us into the sinner's prayer. However this article deal with the attitude of wanting to share. I believe if someone really wants to share Christ, the Holy Spirit will teach him how even if he does not have a chance to learn how. And it will be for the time, relevant to your friends and powerful in spirit.

Someone in love will never be at lost of words to say about his/her lover. Why this is so is because this lover spends moments studying and mediating on the love one. And any time anybody asks for a picture from this someone, he/she readily whips out the photograph. You may even notice that the movement of retrieving the picture seems so fluid. I guess it required a lot of practice and a lot of practice is what this person went through. The process of retrieving a lover's picture is truly a labor of love.

Substitute us as the someone and our lover as Jesus and you get the picture why I claim it is suppose to be natural for us to share Christ. There can be other motivations other then our love for God. Some may do it out of envy or perhaps are being forced to by someone.

It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.
Philippians 1:15-18

I rejoice as long as Christ is being preached but I believe it more sustainable and joyous for you guys if you preach Christ out of love. This is our strength in all our service and sufferings. We suffer, serve and even lose face for the sake of love. Christ washed his disciples feet, healed the multitudes and took our sins because of his love for us and the Father. Christ feed on his Father's love. Should we not feed on Christ's love for us? Our motivation to share Christ will be our love for God and the love for the lost. Have compassion for the lost.

We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.
1 John 4:19-21 **(New International Version)

Jesus is easy to love. He protects me, provides for me and gave me a destiny as joint heir in Christ. If you do not already know I encourage you all to know it in detail, you will easily fall in love with God. But how about my imperfect brother? How to love a human being that is full of faults?

There is an order to things. If we do what the Bible says we will have the results the Bible says. Verse 19 says that we will love because he first love us. If you do not love your neighbor it is because you have not seen God. And the same chapter says that God is love. Therefore the fruit of seeing God who is love will be that you must love your brother/neighbor/friend which is only natural when one beholds the God who is full of love.

So if we want to have a zeal to share Christ with others look to Christ and his love for you first. Leaders seeking to generate an atmosphere of love in their LG should also take note that telling members that we must love will not just happen. We need to look to this source of love that will generate our love to others.

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."
John 15:9 (New International Version)

Do the first things first and the results will come. In this case of sharing Christ, it will be first knowing how much God loves us. When YPM has a bunch of people who is constantly feeding on Christ's goodness that will be the time to get ready. An army whose destiny is more then a conqueror will be on beserker mode when it comes to sharing the Gospel (Good News!)

Matthew speaks...
While we were jogging in East Coast one Friday morning, something flew into my hair. Instinctively, I brushed it off with my hand. A sharp pain ensued...I didn’t know what to do until the bee disengaged itself, and left its sharp sting in my palm.

I was more worried about the pain although it was interesting seeing part of the bee's sting, still wriggling a little. Skillfully, I pulled the sting out with my fingernails and attempted to squeeze out the injected poison. The area around had begun to turn red- the poison had taken effect. It was only when Joanna mentioned that a friend of hers got stung and was hospitalized that I began to pray quietly.

Feeling a strong urge to pray, I entered the toilet, laid hands and prayed as if I was healed. The area was starting to swell and hurt. But God heard my cry and by the time we reached Mac's, the swelling had gone down, the redness subsided. In a few hours, it didn't hurt anymore.

There's still a black dot on my palm. It's as if God stopped the poison right in its tracks! Praise God! Even in the small things, He bothers. He's a Healer who answers prayer!

PRAYER POINTERS for week ending 250206:

1. YPMers will hear the Shepherd's voice and do what He says and follow Him.

Never alone: Unique, whole and loved
A valentine special

Jesus is never lonely except for one time. That time was on the cross. When he was holding the sins of world at the cross God the father had to turn his face away from him. That was the time Jesus most needed God to be with him. However Jesus was determined to finish bearing our punishment then to relieve his pain. His love for us was that great.

Except for that one time Jesus was never lonely. He was alone by choice many times but never lonely. Jesus heard God told man two times,"This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased."

Jesus rested in that love. He never lost the sense of God's love as he constantly felt the presence of God. This tangible gave Jesus a sound mind. Generally people are not balance. We get angry or soft at the wrong times or in wrong measures. Jesus is cool knowing when to angry or kind. We can see that he is whole person, a very balanced individual. Jesus knew that he was unique. whole and very much loved.

That is also how God wants us to be, unique, whole and loved. When we walk, we know that we are never alone. And we never get jealous of other people no matter what gifts they have as we are unique. We need not be lonely just because we do not have a special someone. Here is how to prepare for your life partner taking the principles that can be found in the story of Isaac and Rebekah .

Abraham thinks that Isaac is ready for marriage. He called his servant in saying,"Put your hand under my thigh. I want you to swear by the LORD, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living, but will go to my country and my own relatives and get a wife for my son Isaac."

When God thinks that you are ready, and you want a life partner (a.k.a girlfriend) God will provide. And he will provide someone who is a believer. The problem with getting on with a non-believer is a clash in principles. You will want to pleae your partner and God, but both will clash if he/she is a non-believer. So do not get a wife from the daughters of the Canaanites but from our own country of believers, if not there will be much sorrow. We got to constantly choose who do we want to please.

Take comfort in that God will provide. Knowing this will prevent you from doing potientially stupid things out of desperation.

So the servant went. Then he prayed, "O LORD, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water."

This one is a no brainer. God will provide but we need to create the opening he can use. God does not force the girl/boy to come to you. God respects free choice. He will promote you by showing your good points to the other party but the other party will make the decision on whether you are interesting or not. Since the girl/boy does not drop from the sky we need to make ourshelves avilable. Whenever there is a group outing, go for it. Do not hole up in your room brooding in your loneliness. Make yourself known to people, you never know which unique person will catch your eye or you catching the other party's eye. GO TO WHERE THE GIRLS/BOYS ARE.

The other thing is the well. Rebekah was found at the well. Rachael was found at the well. Moses' wife was also found at the well. The well was also the place Jesus rested while preaching to the Smaritian woman that he gives a living water. Sheeps are watered at the well. In today's context we (the flock of the Good Shepherd) are being watered in the church (the well). The church is the place we receive our living waters. A life partner watered by the finest well water will be a rested, full of life and exciting. (I claim it Jesus name. Amen)

After the servant's prayer he did the next thing. He took a chance

After you have prayed and you think that God has provided. He even showed you the signs you asked for. By the way we are not to depend on signs. If you asked for a sign and you think he has shown you a sign look to the voice inside of you. Do you feel peace? The Holy Spirt will advise you in the way of your peace. If signs and the inner peace lines up take a Chance as the servant did by singling Rebekah out. If you feel disturbed inside, it is best not to rush things until you sort things out.

I forward to the story to the part where Rebekah was going to meet Isaac. Isaac knew not whether the servant will be successful or not as there is a chance he will not be according to the story. One very cool Isaac was not anxious like Philippians 4:6-7."Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Isaac was out in the field mediating when he saw Rebekah . People, concentrate on the things of God. When we concentrate on the things that matter, the other things will take care of themselves. One good way to see if you are doing the right thing is to see how anxious or desperate you are. When you are in Christ enjoying a relationship with him you will notice the the peace of God, which transcends all understanding. Let God take care of the other mundane stuff only enjoy your relationship with him. Let the greatest valentine teach you how to love others properly. Remember God created love. Let him teach us how to love.

Touching the Heart of God

" Prayer enables a believer to know God and

fall in love with Him. A relationship in which

the bride shows up with a want-list for her

husband is absurd.

We need a relationship in which we come to

know the husband's heart.

Having an appointment with God every

morning can become mechanical. We may

find that we meet the printed pages of the

Bible instead of Him.

Also in prayer, when the relationship with God

is not there, that means that we've eliminated

God and are praying to ourselves. The

outcome of a formula or mere mechanics is

that something comes into our mind that is

not from the Holy Spirit. We have an

imagination rather than a revelation from the

Lord.

We must not try to twist God's arm. A love

relationship can not be based on

manipulation

Have you ever known someone who acted like

a friend just because they wanted to use you?

And it turned out they just wanted money or

favours. I call this the rape of a friendship.

But we do this to God every day. When we say
' I don't want you, I want you to move for me'.

Sometimes we hear sermons saying that if we

stand on God's word and say it often and loud

enough, without backing down- God will have

to comply. But God wants our love. A people

who enjoy being with Him. Prayer cannot be

separated from love.

Remember:

WE ARE BORN AGAIN TO BE A BRIDE!

THE BRIDE IS GOING TO BE BEAUTIFUL LIKE JESUS

BRIDE PREP!!!

As a bride there are a few things that we must

do. We must live right and have a different

value system from the world. James 4:4

Let us concentrate on knowing our husband

John 17:3.

Read Psalms 42:1-5 to see an e.g. of the deep

longing and hunger of the Psalmist.

instead of reducing God's greatness to a

formula that twists His arm, We'd be better

off if we just said "I love you"

Only those who are in union with God will

know His heart.

Union is not superficial. It involves spirit, soul

and body.

Prayer requires an intimate love relationship

with God- Talking to, clinging to, and trusting

God.

Prayer is being Jesus' beautiful bride- pleasing

and beautiful to Him. It means that Jesus,

the heavenly bridegroom, looks out of heaven,

sees your character and your quality of life,

and smiles because He is so pleased

and delighted. Touching His heart means that

we, his church, are a great source of

satisfaction to Jesus.

'But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in

a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being

transformed into the same image from glory

to glory just as from the Lord, the spirit'

Praying The Names Of God

Hey one and all. Hope you guys are still coming back over and over again to this wondeful blog.

Been reading a wonderful book called praying the names of God. Basically what it does is it picks out and explains a particular name of God from where it first occurs in the Bible. It's good cos in Hebrew times names were a big thing. Much more significant than in this day and age. A name basically represented who you were. Your character and your nature. That's why in the bible there are so many instances in which the Lord changes the name of a particular person. One example would be the chaning of Saul to Paul.

It is the same for God. There are many many names and titles for God (Over 50). Each one representing one unique aspect of His character though some overlap .

Yahweh Tseboath - The Lord Of Hosts

This name is a title that emphasizes God's rule over every power in the material and spiritual universe. When the scripture speaks of the host of heaven", it usually speaks of celestial bodies (stars, planets) but it can also refer to angelic beings. The word "Host" can also refer to human beings and to nature itself. This title of great power occcurs more than 240 times in the Hebrew bible. reminding us that ALL creation, even in it's fallen condition, is under God's rule and reign. At times scripture speaks of the Lord of Hosts leading a great army. Cherubim & Seraphim (Angels); sun and moon; stars and sky; rivers and mountains; hail and snow; men and women; animals wild and tame- all worship the Lord and are at times called to fight on His behalf.

Kinda reminds you of Chronicles of Narnia doesn't it. But how mignificient a God we serve. Think about it, every single object in the spiritual and physical universe serves His purpose. That means that the reason they live, the action they take, all are for a reason... To GLORIFY GOD!!!
What an honour. Doesn't that make you want to sign up for this army ???

45 David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.

Vs. 45-46

After reading this particular passage. Try putting yourself in David's shoes. One young shepherd boy, with a trembling army behind him and a humongous giant in front of Him.
But he was defiant and confident as ever because he knew who he was fighting for, and fighting with.
Notice how he valued the name of the Lord more than the sword, javelin and spear that the giant had. He knew the name of the Lord was stronger than any weapons that could be forged by men
Isn't it cool the way David spoke it so defiantly. Even in His young, probably unbroken voice.

"This very day, the LORD will deliver you into my hand"

May we learn from David's example whenever
we face trials and struggles of any kind. May we not look at the size of the giant, or the fear of anyone else. May we look to Him, because the battle belongs to Him.

We had an awesome time of Prayer and P & W a few hours back. Even though there were only 4 of us there. I have no doubt that the Lord heard our prayers still. Wads more. We had time to finished early.. giving more time to supp. Ha. You noe just like in the Bible, meals are a really good time to just relax with bro's and sisters in Christ. ANywAy....This week's the first service of the year (aka Dedication Service). Here's What we prayed for:

Leaders - Wisdom, Strength, In spite of their busy schedules, that they'll not feel too tired to serve.
Isaiah 40:31

Cell Group - Greater unity in the cell groups, That attendance will not drop but continue to increase. spiritual maturity of the members will also increase.

YPM Dedication Service - That YPMers will dedicate their lives to God for the whole year. That they would have the fearless, "my-God-can-do-it-all" 'tude ... Whenever they are facing obstacles...

Praise God for such an Awesome Camp!!!

I believe the Lord really moved and touched many hearts during this camp..I was deeply moved.. especially during the altar calls... God's anointing and touch was just on everyone. Indeed He answers our prayers. And we had lots of fun and made many new friends right?...

Why don't we give thanks to Him for all the blessings and the answered prayers that He has given us.

A Call To Prayer 12
Hey one and all, It's one more week to Rezolution..! Are we all praying in full force...?

1) Camp Briefing
There will be a camp briefing followed by a camp prayer meeting on the 12th of Dec. There the camp leaders will be briefed and equipped for the camp. Do keep them in prayer as they are the ones who are gonna move in front and make decisions.

2) Service
Pray for an anointed camp speaker (Chye Aik). For a word in season.
For anointed Praise and worship leaders as well as musicians and singers. That the congregation will be free and open to respond to the Holy Spirit, whether it be by free expression of worship or going up for altar calls.

3) Prayer
That YPMers will have an attitude of submission and humility. That they will acknowledge the Lord in all that they do in their lives. That they will seek His will and ask of Him things that please Him. Even in the camp that they will constantly keep programs, friends and leaders constantly in prayer.

4) Empowerment
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." -Acts 1:8

Now look at our camp theme:

ReZolution- a call to action for this new generation of YPM. A call for this generation of young people to rise up to their full potential in Christ and to reach their generation for Jesus.

Pray that the Lord will pour His anointing into the lives of HIs youth. That they will receive empowerment from on high. That they will know of the power which comes from the Holy Spirit who already lives in them. That they will have His passion for the lost.

5) Admin
Nametags. Camp booklets. Camp T-shirts etc. etc. do not come from nowhere. Sweat and blood is put into the production of these wonderful
items. Pray for the items to come out alright, and thank God for the people who produced them.

6) Logistics
Probably big on Josh Ho's prayer request list. That we will bring all the necessary items to camp and not forget anything.

Camp Comm's Prayer Requests

Amelia - Hear from God in a clear and personal way. Intimacy with the most high. Rest from weariness and stress.

Ee Ling - The blood of Jesus to cover all of us, so we are safe wherever we go, whatever we do. A heart of expectancy and excitement, ready for more of Jesus! Great weather!

Josh Ho - Busy with school work. Pray for strength and ability to come for camp next week refreshed.

Calvin Low - To place my hope in the Lord and not circumstances. For the youth of YPM to see the Lord move mightily in their lives and in YPM. For them to make a decision to follow unswervingly to Jesus. That he will not be required to be in camp during this period

Samson Fu - that we would be a people who would be ready to dwell in the glorious presence of our king

Matthew Chern - For God's anointing to be upon His life as he sets apart Himself for Jesus.

Hey guys,

I just read through and typed out all the prayer expectations for Rezolution '05.
See the campers were asked to write their prayer requests of the camp on paper.
Several things hit me as i read through the list. Things like:

1) The simple faith and expectancy of the campers
You could tell from the way they wrote it. So short and simple that they had no doubt God would grant their requests.

2) Desire for the things of God
I was honestly expecting a lot more material or slip-shod heard-that-somewhere-before requests. But instead we had requests like to know God's plan for my life, to know God better, to know more friends

Can't reveal all for privacy sake. But generally these are the requests:

Youths lives to be touched and changed by God. To be set ablaze for Him. A closer walk

His plans to be revealed in my life

To know more friends and YPMers (for the age gap to be broken)

of course... FUN

And to end i shall place brother Isaac Low's request here. Without His permission. But i'm sure he won't mind..

That He establish a generation that knows and loves Him, no more a generation who are strangers to the things of the Lord

I can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do with this generation of youth. I bet the devil's knees are trembling right now. The world is waiting

I take my hat off to men like Joe Wright , a minister who was asked to open the new sessions of the Kansas Senate, in 1996 when everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:

A Revelation of Jesus

How to get the most out of sermons.The answer to all our problems is a revelation of Jesus.

Many problems are to do with people. imperfect people will always cause problems.Whenever people pray for an answer or a change. God's way is to change the person first. When the person has changed, most problems naturally gets solved.

E.g. John wonders why no one likes him. People tend to avoid John. Because of this John has low self-esteem. And to break out of it he tries too hard to get people to like him with less then desireable results. The harder he tries the more people despise him. He is desperate and they can feel it. It puts people off.
But John does not realise this. He prays for people to like him. Many of our prayer are for circumstances to change. But they do not realise more often than not, God changes the person. As it is the people that changes the circumstance.

Therefore what John needs is a revealation of Christ. When John realises that Jesus not only took away his sins but also that he has perfect standing with God, he realises that he has the best friend in Jesus. Jesus is his best friend. He need not any other friends. The desperation in him will be gone.

And when John is not desperate he begins to become cool. The irony is that the something he no longer needs will come to him. The cool factor is very attractive.

People get attracted to him as John oozes with the fruits of the Spirit without knowing. The fruits of the Spirit is the real cool stuff. Some worldly traits may be cool in some places and not others. Knowing you are secured and having the fruits of the spirit is cool everywhere. Just like Singapore dollars can only be accepted in Singapore but gold is accepted internationally. The knowledge of Christ's love for us makes Christians the real cool dudes everywhere.

The answer to John's problems is not to try harder, it is to keep his eyes on Jesus and drink of his word.

This is just one example on how a revealation in Jesus is the answer to our problem. The same goes for money problems, family problems and many others.Always desire to see Jesus

Every sermon can be a revelation for us. In fact in almost everything God can use it to speak to us. The reason is because we have the best teacher the Holy Spirit in us.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you,and ye need not that any man teach you:but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things,and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you,you shall abide in him.I John 2:27

"You need not any man teach you ..."
According to this verse, man's teachings is not neccessary. We have the Holy Spirit in us. However the Holy Spirit has to use something to teach and build upon. Thus we have preachers, teachers and Bible study materials.

Preachers and teachers have thier part to play as spoken in the Bible. However the above verse tells us what is our part. And that is to abide in him. Abide in the Holy Sipirt in every material, preaching or teaching. And no matter how boring a sermon is, remember you are now being taught by the best. Listen attentively to the sermon, because the Holy Spirit may suddenly bring out a point he wants you to know.

A good prayer to pray will be this. "Holy Spirit open my eyes that I may see Jesus and what he has done on the cross for me. Amen."The Holy Spirit will always point you to Jesus. And remember that Jesus is the answer.

When Jesus met the two, he did not declare,"Hello people I am Jesus." But he kept quiet and expound all that has happened in the scriptures regarding himself. This shows that the revealation of Jesus is more important then seeing the physcial Jesus.

And when Jesus suddenly disappeared the two were not amazed by his disappearance but rather that their hearts burned when Jesus was preaching to them.

I think Jesus accomplish what he wanted to do. Which is to not impress them with his physical but rather leave them with burning hearts of revealation.

I am sure you people will sometimes experience it. When you get a revealation of Jesus your hearts burn.

"Abide in him" abide in the Holy Spirit in every teaching and sit back and relax.

One burning heart coming right up!

Hey guys... It's 2 weeks to the YPM Rezolution camp But it's never too late to start praying for it.
Looks like a long list? Then let's start praying NOW!

1] Chiefs, Champions, Elders
Ok.. The list of Grp leaders, Asst. Leaders and Elders (Leaders, Asst. Leaders and Mentors) is out. wahey~!
Everything rises on leadership...
There are plenty of young ones in this group but guess what.. They are already leaders in their own right.
Do pray for wisdom, willingness, and dilligence as they lead. That they will have the strength and the Holy spirit as their guide... The same Holy Spirit who was in Timothy who at the age of 19 led a church of thousands.

2] God's word
Keep keeping Chye Aik in prayer... That He will bring a 'Rhema' word.. A word in season.. That is perfectly applicable and life transforming for each and every life.
That the campers will have a hunger and thirst for God's word.. the textbook for living, the love letter from the Most High... =)

3] Repentance
That the Lord will bring us to a point of repentance and contriteness... That we will stop thinking that we can live independent of the Lord. That He will bring us to the sudden knowledge that our only hope is in Him.
Through this we can live an abundant live as we abide in the vine (Jesus)
This is the best attitude as we enter into war with the evil one... Dun look back to Egypt... (sin, worldliness , your old self). Only look to Jesus. If we look back we will be like the 10 other unbelieving spies.. Fearful... And weak...No let us have the firm and focused heart of Joshua and Caleb... He is gonna bring us out of our personal wildernesses (unforgiveness, loneliness, pain, uselessness) to a land full of milk and honey..

4] Camp T-shirt
Praise God for the camp T-shirt. it's really cool stuff. thanks to the contributors... Lydia. and Shumin (again?)... And of couse the background ppl pushing the suppliers and stuff. IZ yeo and Amelia. indeed... Our God is soo good.. i love nice camp T-shirts.. It's in the process of production now.. so pray hard!.. i dun want a camp shirt showing my mid-riff...

5] Health
That there will be no viruses or bugs of any sort being spread around. We don't want anything to hinder us from really learning and enjoying the Lord and each other. That nobody will have to be sent home. bind it in Jesus name.

Personal Prayer Requests

Amelia - Pray for strength that could only come from Him. Focus and joy in spite of a hectic schedule and pressure and occasionally incompetent prayer i/cs

Aaron Tay - Pray that the Youths have a broken Spirit and a Contrite Heart . This way, they will have an expectancy for our Father in Heaven. Also pray that they will be open to people around them, and to the pastor and his msg. Pray for the Musicians, that they be Sanctified and Consecrated before the Lord, to serve Him wholely and purely.

Ee Ling - Pray for safety of campers that they won't be stung by stonefish etc.. and expectant heart... And goot weather... =)

Isaac Yeo - stay tuned for IZ's accidentally deleted his message sorry everyone.. sorry IZ

Josh Ho - Pray for tics into Sentosa... And school will have no activities during duration of camp.. =)....

Repentance

2 Chronicles 7:14if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

In biblical terms, repentance is about changing your mind about anything that keeps you from drawing closer to God. referring to a truly God-given, Spirit-led change of heart and mind toward God about sin.

Have you ever reached this juncture in your life where u take the time to look back at the road behind. Looking at all the choices you've made, detours, off-track experiences which bring you to this point in the road.
I have. Having been brought up in a Christian family i have had the awesome God-given priviledge of knowing Christ from a young age.
However after salvation, there is still a need for sanctification. I am saved but not perfect and Christ is continually changing me.

But the point here is this. When i look back in life and sometimes wonder why? Why Lord? Why did this happen? Why am i such-and-such a person?

4Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?
Rom 2:4

And then the realisation hit me. Everything that went wrong in my life was a direct result of my disobedience to Him and to His word. But in my selfishness and childishness i put the blame on Him. I wanted what He could give exclusively, rather than loving Him in return. 1 John 5:3
I started to realise how small i am compared to an awesome and Holy God. And when you think about it. Sin kills. Spiritually as well as in this present life.

" Until a person becomes personally exceedingly sinful in his own eyes, he will never see his need for repentance."

But I thank God that He did not leave me in my wretchedness.
He gives me a way out. He says repent. Turn your heart and mind away from sin, the things of this world, and turn your heart to me.

"But repentance without faith is nothing more than remorse or regret."

"Repentance comes about through the convicting power of the Spirit of God using the Word of God to cause a change of attitude, action, and affection.
Saving faith is trust in and reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ as one's personal Lord and Saviour.
Saving faith is believing with your heart; it is coming to Christ, receiving Christ, looking to Christ, calling upon Christ to save your soul."

15"The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

I realised. The Lord's commands are here to protect and provide, and they are not burdensome, as i used to think. 1 John 5:3

"... I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" (Matt. 9:13).

I realised the way back to Him is just being humble and saying my righteousness is nothing. What i mistook for morality and correct Christian values in the past and felt proud when i kept them are just not enough. I need you Lord every single day and moment of my life. I need your word to guide me. I want to learn more about you daily. I want to love you.

2000 years ago He reached through the darkness. Our Jesus. He said "No Father, Let me take the weight of their sin, their pain, let me bear the brunt of their sickness" He did that 2000 years ago . He's still doing that today.

I realised we can't be passive. With repentance i must have faith. i must put my faith in Jesus. Saying Lord, I've repented of my ways.. but now i do not know where to go. Teach me Lord. I never want to stop learning and obeying your commands.

Say this prayer for and with me:

" Father, i know i was a wretched person. Lord you are the opposite of me. Whether i am a Christian or not, There will never be a day in which i will not need you in my life. I'm sorry for ever thinking so. Father i confess any sin and independent attitude i have had in myself. I ask of your forgiveness. I hate sin because you hate sin. I choose to live for you. Please come into my life and be Lord and saviour once again. I need you Lord. Amen"

Hey people. Are we all keeping Rezolution faithfully in prayer.
Sure it's not easy. I know and i'm not always faithful in praying for it
But let's persevere and not feel ashamed.
What do u expect from the camp? If you have been abiding in Him chances are it's what the Lord expects outta it too. Keep praying for it faithfully and expect it patiently.
As i say this I'm encouraging myself too...
let us not stop doing good and helping others. He will not forget.

10For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. 11He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. 12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."[a] 1Pet3:10-12

And also keep from doing evil in His sight. The Lord hears the prayers of the righteous.(Pro15:8,29 28:9).. If we're gonna get good stuff from the Lord (All promises and blessings). We gotta have the responsibility to handle it. And as we live upright lives. We can be assured our hearts are tuned to His.
So let's keep at it.. =)

Like it or not your prayer i/c is back from wallaby for good...(i hear some cheers and some jeers) ..Haha..
I would like to thank Ms Poon for doing such a wonderful job with the blog. Oh man, if she hadn't added more than some life to this blog it would still be a carcass right now...Thanks a million.
For those who love her posts do stay tuned..
I would like to thank the whole prayer subcomm(Guang Hao, Cooper , Jia En, Shumin) who have held the fort these past 37 days. I wanna say that Guang Hao is da man. For a guy of 15 years he has shown incredible determination, decision-making skills and leadership.Right now he's in Malaysia with his skool, so do keep him in ur prayers.
And to Coop and Jia En oso.. Who have more than helped out in the sub comm..(Coop i noe it seems like i arrow u.. haha..but u noe tts not my intention)
Thanks to all for keeping YPM, the camp, committee, prayer sub comm and myself in your prayers..
Last but never least our Father in heaven.. who has more than protected me and taught me by experience through wallaby. Who has shown Himself to be faithful when i was faithless. Loving when i had none left in me. It is my honour to be called your child and to serve u in wadever capacity i can.
having had some time to reflect and learn during my days in Autralia. I think i have learnt some stuff that i would like to share with u guys. Along with Shu, Moses and whoever would like to contribute, I hope that we will be able to inspire and motivate one and all to pray for the camp. T-minus 17 days... Not like all-knowing sages or something. But rather peers and fellow bros and sisters sharing what we learnt

Testimony (aka story) Time
So much to thk Him for. But this is a very specific incident.. 1 week before i was supposed to come back... RSAF threw me 1 x stunner. Here's what happened..
My boss' boss told him that he had to stay back for at least one more day. And that he would go back on the 25th rather than the 23rd. But he couldn't bcos he had to be there for his daughter's PSLE exam results on the 24th (collective "riiiiiiiiiight.." But he's a good superior la)
Suddenly the crab became very hungry for ikan bilis..3 ikan bilises... And so before i knew it. My flight was postponed to the 251105...
Nooooo... cannot ... I dun wanna stay for another 2 days. It's 2 days too long... And i have too much camp stuff to do.. (another collective "rrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggghhht".. But It's true! It is! )....
immediately started praying. And sent messages to people who realli cared for me and i them... 2 messages in total...But i heard more ppl were mobilised to pray oso.. thank God for all who prayed..
I refused to accept tt i was going back on 25th. i din make preparations and stuff... But news was still that i was going back on the 25th... until finally another superior started telling me i should hurry up and do my preps.. sad
The following day i grudgingly went to check with the guy coordinating the flights and guess what?... He told me that they had actualli managed to slot my boss into the aircraft on the 23rd
.. And that i won't needa stay for another 2 long days.. Woohooo...!
Praise God... He is a prayer answering God... for me and for you too...

ReZolution
a call to action for this new generation of YPM. A call for this generation of young people to rise up to their full potential in Christ and to reach their generation for Jesus.

Do we have the courage to believe that WE are going to rise up above our individual struggles and weaknesses to be the men and women God wants us to be?

Do we have the courage to believe that WE are the people who are going to make a difference to this generation? WE are the ones who are going to lead an entire lost generation to it's knees in repentance in Jesus name?

Numbers 13-14

Will WE be one of the ten other spies who see the beauty and abundance of the land. But in our fear and faithlessness say it cannot and will not be done and make other's hearts melt with fear.

Or will WE have the spirit and courage of Joshua (Joshua's name is the Hebrew equivalent of Jesus) and Caleb. Will WE like Caleb say:" Together with Jesus nothing is impossible."

From Zondervan Life application Bible:

"Caleb was not such a man of great faith as a man of faith in a great God! His boldness rested on His understanding of God, not on his confidence in Israel's abilities to conquer the land. He could not agree with the majority, for that would be to disagree with God."

Choose...
Choose to be the one who stands upon God's character and strength. On His faithfulness to His people. A God who cannot lie.
Ask Him for courage and Faith to believe and stand out from the crowd, to dare to be different, even when others say it can't be done (It could even be our close friends)
Ask Him for a love and passion for the lost. Ask Him to strengthen our weaknesses and for His own strength to be shown in our weaknesses.

Young people we are not the church of tomorrow. We are not future evangelists, pastors, teachers, apostles. We are the church of TODAY. Let no one despise our youth. We are going to take Singapore TODAY.

A Call to Prayer [10]

Hello one and all once again...
To all who have been faithfully praying for the camp and for those who wish to start. Now's not too late..u've still got 3 more weeks....

S1
For the group list which is already out. That God would personally grant the groups synergy, that they will learn so much from each other and generally enjoy each other's company

For the selected group leaders to be willing to serve, and that He will grant them an extra dose of anointing, favour and leadership as they take up a higher responsibility. That they would regard it an honour rather than a burden. And that the Father would duly reward them in the camp.

S2
That YPMers will know the importance of God's word for living and Holiness even before the camp starts.Through (QT, Bible Study, Sermons, Sermon tapes etc etc.)
That they would come with an expectancy and a deep hunger for the word of God

S3
that YPMers will be Empowered and Armored. (Eph 6:10-11)
Empowered with strength from the Holy Spirit.
Armored with the armour of God.
Because it is through these that we will defeat the evil one and his schemes (Eph 6:12).
And it is by this we can reach an entire lost generation for Jesus

Cooperation of the island management. That they will be accepting of all the activities that we are going to have (especially games).With all the noisee and mess and stuff.. haha

He wraps Himself in light. And darkness tries to hide. It trembles at His voice.

I remember about a month back when our camp chairman, Amelia, addressed the fear issue about the Scripture Union campsite during YPM.

Demons and evil spirits are real. But the problem is that we've always been focusing on our fear of them (or pretending that they don't exist,which isn't very smart either.). It's about time we bring our focus back to not how scary they are but how great and how much more powerful our Jesus is!

and so, part 2 about the blood of Jesus is going to show you just what you have because of Jesus that will cause the demons to run so fast and so hard..and make you realize why you have no reason to be afraid. onward to liberation from fear! yay!

What is it about the blood of Jesus that makes demons and evil spirits flee?
ok, first up, WHO is Jesus? Jesus is the son of the most holy, most awesome God. Our God is completely pure, holy. He is perfectly sinless and good.

blood of Jesus = blood of God's precious Son = pure. holy. good.
demons and evil spirits = impure. evil. hateful.

demons and everything evil cannot stand anything pure and holy. it freaks them out bad. really bad. how much more are they afraid of Jesus and His shed blood? satan and his demons hate the blood of Jesus! Jesus is the EPITOME OF PURITY, HOLINESS AND GOODNESS.

Application!
The blood of Jesus is available for us to appropriate and apply in our lives. When we apply the blood of Jesus in our lives, it's like building a hedge of protection around us. When evil spirits see the blood of Jesus over us, they are completely helpless! One thing i've been doing every night for the past year is to cover my family and I in the blood. Nothing can touch us.

Start doing this, make it a point to ask for the covering of the blood each time you pray. Cover yourself, your family, your cell group members with the blood! Pray for the campsite as well, to be covered in the blood of Jesus. ask God to build a hedge of protection around our campsite! Stop being afraid. satan uses fear to cripple you. Start becoming a child of God who knows the POWER that lies in the shed blood of your Jesus!

remember Revelations 12:11
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

by the blood of the Lamb, we have overcome the evil one!

A Call To Prayer [9]

"When we pray, all that God is and has becomes ours . All you need to do is ask."

With this in mind, let's press on in prayer together for the camp which is happening in about a month's time!

1. Pray for Rezolution'05!
i) Groupings and selections of group leaders!
Pray that this will be done according to His will and pray for wisdom and discernment for those in the campcom who will be doing this. May the ones chosen for this responsibility be His choice!

ii) Pray for greater expectancy from campers
Pray that campers will begin to already expect to have a life-altering encounter with our great God in the camp. This camp will be the one they meet Jesus, so real, so close, so awesome, they can't deny it..and will never remain the same.

iii) Pray for spiritual strongholds to be broken!
What are spiritual strongholds in the first place? this is what i found:
"A spiritual stronghold is any area in your life over which the devil has control such as pride, lust, fear, worry, anxiety, gluttony, rebellion, or ignorance. Satan seeks to establish these strongholds in your life so that He can have control over you. These strongholds are normally established in your mind. He will use these strongholds, which are normally your weaknesses or bad habits, as his battleground to launch his fiery darts. He will use them to short-circuit God's anointing over your life to defeat you."

Pray that in the name of Jesus, these strongholds will be torn down, because if the Son has set us free, we are free indeed! (John 8:36)

iv) Logistics
Pray that the things needed for the camp will be easy to find. Pray that equipment will work properly and that nothing will go missing/damaged. Pray that we will trust Him entirely for providence :)

v) Things out of human control, but perfectly in our Father's control :)
Pray for the health of campers and campcom! May we remember that what Jesus has, we have, and who doesn't know Jesus has perfect health? May we remain strong and energetic! Our bodies overflowing with life and everything good!

2. From the campcom!
Amelia:
Pray that she will continue to find rest in God and continues to hear from Him.

Aaron:
The groupings and selection of group leaders is this week. Pray that our Father's hand is upon those who are involved in this. and that it is by His guidance that we do this. Pray for his upcoming exams too! Pray for knowledge,wisdom,peace of mind and heart.

Eeling:
Commit the safety of campers into God's hands.

Joshua Ho:
Pray for my dad's health and also that i have time to commit to the camp.

Calvin Low:
Pray for favour amongst his fellow colleagues and superiors as he spends his last few days in aussie. Pray for wisdom and abundance of grace upon him as he carries on with his work. Pray for a good,safe flight home..as he comes home on the 23rd of Nov (next wed)!

Isaac Yeo:
Pray that the upcoming mission trip to KL will be fruitful and enriching. Pray for good time management for the camp com. Pray for a good T-shirt dealer. Pray that everyone will do their own part..and pray together with us.. :)

Samson:
Pray for my exams.
And for the camp, pray that we'll go with an expectant heart, pregnant with a vision.

Hi guys! we have a new component to this blog! TESTIMONIES! Yes, prayer works, for real.. let your fellow YPMers share with you :)

Here's our very first contributor, Moses Foo! WHOOPEE!

Wallet. The one accessory that unites all brothers great and small. Guys will never be so metrosexual as to not have a wallet. Sometimes when I look at my wallet, I ponder. My identity, memories, wealth and various cards that serves as passes to various places all contained into one neat little leather package. What will happen to me if I lose it?
That day came!

After a satisfying game of DOTA with my seconday school mates. (OWNAGE! MEGA KILL! DOUBLE KILL, TRIPLE KILL constanly blaring from my speakers) I proceeded home.
I took bus 291. My stop came and I got down. The bus left. I then felt my pockets to make sure I have everything with me.
Felt right pocket, handphone there. Checked!
Felt left pcoket, keys there. Checked!
Felt right back pocket. Nothing there. Felt left back pocket nothing there either. I have lost my wallet.

Straight away I thought I must have left it at the LAN shop. I begin to assess my losses. I will need to replace my ATM card, my IC, my SAFRA member card and my EZlink card. All need time and money to replace. The feeling is sian man!

Then suddenly I thought of that auntie who said she found her things after praying. I decided to give prayer a try. Nothing to lose anyway.

"Father Lord, I have lost my wallet. And I am now asking that you help me get back my wallet. I commit my wallet and its recovery into your hands. I shall refuse to worry because you are already taking care of the matter. I rest in your goodness. I pray this so that my joy may overflow. In Jesus name. Amen"

In my mind I was thinking, "Okie, my part is done. Lord show me you in action."
The funny thing is that after I had that thought, I suddenly realise that I could not have left my wallet in the LAN shop. I last saw my wallet when I used the EZlink to board the bus. The wallet must have been still in the bus.

Bus 291 is a feeder bus. Feeder buses have generally short journeys that loops back. I proceeded to cross the road to catch the same bus. Waited 15 anxious minutes before I saw the bus. Flagged it down and explained to the Bus Captain what happened. I strided to seat I sat before and LO and BEHOLD ........ there is my wallet. No one molested it! No need to replace replace my ATM card, my IC, my SAFRA member card and my EZlink card. Time and money saved.

I went home feeling high. I have found my wallet and at the same time I have found that God listens to prayers.

What a wonderful God we serve! sometimes we think that, nah, we shouldn't bother God with small stuff..and why would He even care about the little things that happen to me anyway? well, that's when you gotta know the heart of your Father and what His character is like. He CARES about EVERY LITTLE thing that happens to you.

Think about the person on this earth who loves you the most. It could be your dad,mom, sister, friend, anyone. For me, my dad, i know he loves me like crazy and he would do just about anything for me. I know that if i lost my wallet, or if i missed a bus, if he could he would make sure that i found my wallet or that the next bus came earlier so that i wouldnt be late! He would do everything in his power to make things go well for me. HOW MUCH MORE MY HEAVENLY FATHER? :)

I urge you, dear people. Get to know your heavenly Father's heart even more intimately, so you know just how much He loves you and how much He has already done for you and will continue to do for you. Don't be afraid to pray and ask Him for help. while you're at it, keep the camp in prayer too, ok?

A Call to Prayer [8]

Hello dear people! First up, thank you for your support and prayers for this blog, -thumps chest- RESPECT! haha. As the camp draws nearer, we're going to step up in intensity for prayer for the camp, okay? Oh-kay! Here we go!

1. Be united in prayer for Rezolution '05!
i) Camp Registration
Pray for YPMers who have yet to sign up for the camp, that this week will be the week they throw away whatever reservations they have, and whatever obstacles will be removed so that they will take the first step to signing up for the camp!

ii) Our camp speaker, Chye Aik!
Pray for Chye Aik as he seeks God for a special word for the campers. Pray that his heart be one with the Father's!

iii) Spiritual aspect of the camp!
Remember how real the spiritual realm is? No kidding. Pray for campers and the committee, that as the camp date draws nearer that we continue to be on the alert and put on the spiritual armour at all times. Pray for the powerful blood of Jesus to cover us as well as for the campsite! Pray that there will be no fear either. We know the ending of this story! WE WIN, BECAUSE OF JESUS!
Revelation 12:11

Precious children of the Most High God, start living like who you really are! Know that you have authority and power because of Jesus!

iv) Logistics
Pray that whatever we need will be there and provided for. Comfortable beds, shower facilities that work, good food..

v) Things out of human control, but perfectly in our Father's control :)
Pray for perfect weather! Sunny when it should be sunny and cooling when we need it most.

2. From the campcom:
Amelia:
- Pray for good rest (physical + spiritually in the Lord)
- As chairman - pray that I will always & in all things stay a lil' bit closer to the Lord, to sit at His feet, Hear from Him specifically, and especially so, before making any/all decisions related to the camp

Isaac Yeo:
-Pray for matt to find good devotional materials for the camp
-Pray for good planning of activities
-Pray for God to touch lives in this camp

Samson:
-Pray that the we'll be able to identify worship leaders for the camp and the we'll start to prepare ourselves for the camp.

Calvin Low:
-Pray that I will be able to come back to Singapore all fired up and ready to carry out my tasks as Prayer and Worship IC!
-Pray that YPMers will truly experience what it is to be like as children of God.

Whiter than the snow...

I suppose if you've been in church long enough, you're bound to have heard someone talk about the blood of Jesus. heard someone praying it, applying and covering with the blood of Jesus. But have you ever wondered about it?? What is it about His blood that the mere mention of it and demons flee like terrified worms? What is it about His blood that cleanses and heals us, His beloved children? Why did Jesus have to shed His blood on His last day on earth? Why?

Because your life is going to change when you know the POWER that is in the BLOOD of YOUR Jesus.

Part 1: The blood of Jesus has washed away your sins! Completely!
There are things in our lives that we've done that we wish a hundred times over that we didn't do it. But fact is, we did. We have a lot of memories of the past that haunts us and satan knows our weaknesses. he likes to use things that remind us of the sins we committed.

Remember back in the Old Testament when the blood of bulls and goats were offered as sin offerings?

Hebrews 9:14 says that
"How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!"

now what you have is not the blood of bulls and goats, but you have the blood of the Son of God! Jesus's blood has washed you clean from your sins FOREVER. do you understand what that means? since the blood of Jesus has washed you clean, there is no longer a need to feel guilty because of the sins you committed previously. Romans 8:1 says that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus. YOU are in Christ Jesus, my dear friend. If you go on believing that you are being judged because of the wrong you did, that's a complete lie and a total insult to God. He sent His Son to DIE on the Cross for you, shed His blood, but you don't believe it?

Benny Hinn articulates it best.. read on!
"The sins of your past cannot be erased simply because you want them to be. You cannot be freed from a sinful life by merely saying 'I'm going to forget about it.'
God said that He would 'purge' us. The blood will purge your conscience completely- not only your transgressions, but every thought connected with them."

Nothing but the blood of Christ can cleanse your mind from thoughts of past and present sins. Since we have "a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinklld from an evil conscience" (Heb 10:21-22)

What is an evil conscience? One that remembers yesterday and whispers, 'You're a sinner.'
But in heaven, the Lord says, 'Welcome! I have delivered you from your iniquities. You are forgiven. Only saints can enter here, and the blood has made you righteous.'

To many it sounds impossible that we can stand before God with the righteousness of Christ, but it is true. Because the blood of Jesus is pure, we become pure in God's sight. The Lord cleanses our minds from the past and the present."

The blood has washed you CLEAN! Whiter than the snow! You are FREE from condemnation. In God's eyes, because of the blood of Jesus, you are as righteous, as good as Jesus is!

1 John 1:7 says that
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."

Purifies. See that? It doesn't say purified. had purified. It says purifies. And that means it's a continuous cleansing. Right now, the blood of Jesus is cleansing you! It's a continual cycle, being washed by the blood of Jesus!

Hard to believe? Believe it, because only when you believe it, and only when you apply the blood of Jesus over your heart, then you open your heart to receive the freedom that comes from knowing that truly, in Christ Jesus, there is no condemnation.

We deserve to be punished for our sins and our scummyness. We all deserve to be hung on that Cross. but your Creator stepped in, His heart overflowing with love for you. "No. I love you too much. Let me take your place.I'll pay the price for your sins." And that He did. on the Cross.

He took your place, full of guilt,shame and dirt. Since He took your place, He has given you His place. And in Jesus's place, there is complete freedom and righteousness. Know what you have in Christ Jesus, don't give satan the chance to steal from you what is yours because you don't know what you have.

When you pray today, apply the blood of Jesus over your heart and life. Know that your sins are washed away! Do as Benny Hinn says: "When satan reminds you of your past, remind him of his future!"

A Call to Prayer [7]

Helloooooooooo! Prayer pointers are here! Yay :)
ok.go read. and PRAY!

1. Pray that YPMers will come to see Jesus as someone they can run to
Pray that Jesus will no longer be Someone distant, Someone far away that we can't relate to.

Psalm 46:1
"God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble."

He is closer to us than even our best friends..pray that we will learn to be more sensitive to His presence that's always with us. He is right there, willing to listen, willing to comfort, with arms of love wide open.

2. Pray for strength and perseverance as we push in closer to God
Sometimes the road seems too long..too lonely..too narrow. Being set apart for Him seems tough. But take heart,

Psalm 126:4
"Those who sow in tears
will reap with songs of joy."

Pray for strength and perseverance for all in YPM who are seeking God. He promises that He will be found by you. (Jeremiah 29:13) A dear friend shared with me something from a book: our walk with the King is a step-by-step, one foot in front of the other kinda faith. Keep your eyes on the finish line! The unimaginable joy and indescribable love when we finally meet Jesus..it's reason enough. May we rejoice with every trial as He moulds us to become the people we never thought we could be and everything He intended for us to be!

3. From the camp com:
Amelia:
Pray for campers as they prepare to come for the camp. Pray also for Aaron as he will be making some announcements this weekend.

Aaron:
Pray for the committee to have a worshipful heart, and as the camp draws closer, that we remain steadfast in our walk.

Isaac Yeo:
Pray that we’ll hit our faith target for the camp and continue praying that we’ll find a good T shirt supplier with good price and quality. Pray for good health for me too.

Eeling:
Pray for very good weather on games’ day, because after carrying out the recce on Tuesday for games, we realized that we really need the good weather.

Calvin Low:
Pray for obedience for everyone. John 15:4-7. When we abide in Him, we’ll see answered prayers in our lives. As for me, pray for joy in every step as he does his stuff in aussie, pray for a peace and contentment that can only come from God.

Enjoying Jesus :)

Today i learnt an incredibly valuable lesson.

There have been many times in my life that i'm so caught up in doing what i should. i should spend at least half hour reading the Word, i should pray for at least, at least 15mins -whacks self if i don't- it becomes a brow-knitting, eyes shut tight, forced concentration thing. then i peep at my clock in mid-prayer. ah yes! i've hit 15mins, i breathe a sigh of relief. yes. i've made it. met my minimum requirement.i should be safe now, hur. lululu!
strange how that 15mins felt like eternity...

does that happen to you too?
so what i want to ask you is.. have you forgotten what it's like to enjoy the Lord?

When we begin to enjoy our Lord..the process becomes a pleasure. Praying and worshipping becomes something we look forward to doing, because we enjoy it.
I can't wait to pray because it's no longer something someone forces me to do, but rather because it's the way i talk to the One i love who loves me even more! I enjoy talking to someone i love..and i love that that someone loves to talk with me too. It's this way with our Lord! He loves to talk to you! Do you know how happy you make Him?
Zephaniah 3:17
"He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

amazing,huh?

so how exactly do you enjoy the Lord? i suppose it differs with individuals. perhaps some might choose to venture outdoors, spread your arms wide and twirl round and round, just breathing in His presence in His beautiful creation..enjoying Him through His creation. maybe some might just sit in the dark in their rooms..singing sweet love songs to Him. perhaps some may flop on their beds and have a conversation with the King..try asking Him something you would ask a friend, something random, something fun. just try. i know i did, and He did answer,haha!
i dont know how you would choose to enjoy the Lord, but i'm sure we all have different ways that are all so,so precious to Him :) it makes me smile knowing that the Lord enjoys my company too!

Psalm 16:11
"You have made known to me the path of life,
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

our God is one of eternal pleasures. Not the low-grade,cheap and vile "pleasures" the world offers, but authentic, sweet,satisfying pleasure, the way God created it. when we seek to enjoy Him and His wonderful presence, we will find pleasure in the King!

So would you take the time to enjoy the Lord today? Just you and Him time.
Forget the rules, forget the obligations, forget the pressures.
Just enjoy your Lord and His sweet,sweet presence.
It's a turning point.
No more religion.
Just the start of a beautiful relationship with your precious Jesus.
Enjoy the Lord.

sounds like a tall order huh.but here's what i learnt and am still learning to apply.

"Our joy, prayers and thankfulness should not fluctuate with our circumstances or feelings. Obeying these three commands - be joyful, pray continually, and give thanks - often goes against our natural inclinations. When we make a conscious decision to do what God says, however, we will begin to see people in a new perspective. When we do God's will, we will find it easier to be joyful and thankful."

so even when you don't feel like being joyful, prayerful and thankful, just do it.i believe that when you make the conscious effort to obey God, He gives you the strength you need to do it.. and gradually, it becomes easier and easier!

A Call To Prayer [6]

HELLO! WILL YOU GUYS BE UNITED IN PRAYER WITH US? (:

1. Unity and love among camp committee
Pray that everything that camp com does, every word, every thought, every action will be done in Jesus’s love. Remember 1 John 4:12. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
Pray for unity, that the camp com will be one, flowing together in the same direction, with the same goals and vision. Pray that the camp com will not allow satan to have any hold, or any chance to sow any seeds of discord.May YPMers see the love of Christ exemplified through the camp com.

2. Our dear youths who are taking their Os/As
This one’s for you people, we remember you! Pray that above everything else, you will remember the depth of love the Father has for you. Know that our God is the wisest EVER! And no Math/weird science equation (ok, personal bias. hur.) is too tough for Him. Pray that you will remember who you have in you, Jesus Christ! The author of beautiful poetry and creator of languages, scientist, mathematician, geographer, historian. “I am”, He says.

Pray for supernatural strength and wisdom that can only come from our great God. Pray for peace. And learn to cast ALL your worries upon Him, simply because He cares for you. If it’s in your hands, it’s not in God’s hands.

3. From the camp com!
Amelia:
-Pray that I will be able to rest well in Him. (Ps. 46:10)
Busy from work, camp, lg and other stuff.. need to take time to retreat with God

-Pray that the parents will support us in prayer, and pray for their kids to get touched in the camp

Why pray?
Because prayer is your #1 weapon against satan! whoop!

Ever had days when everything just seems to suck? You can't explain why, you're just frustrated and impatient. or maybe you get depressive, with all those extreme mood swings, and you just wanna break things? (smell the angst already!) then out of nowhere, some really negative thoughts sneak into your head..("i'm useless.can't do nothing right.") and then suddenly, you start remembering past,unhappy incidents. those that you'd give anything to forget. Perhaps memories of someone who hurt you, rejection/loss, or maybe a failed relationship...

well, my friend. you are not alone. -pat on the back-
ok wait! before we decide to gather for a group hug and wallow in self pity.......

first question. do you know who you are?!!?!
let me have the honour of telling you, that you are the precious,precious child of the most awesome GOD. yeap. believe it. it's who you are. get that in your head,ok? (:
second. do you know that satan practically quivers knowing who YOU ARE? he would do anything to try to bring you down, so that you won't realize the power that you have that comes from your Father.
third. has it occurred to you how real the spiritual realm is?

let me share a story with you. (which is completely relevant, so keep reading!)
the King of Aram was at war with Israel, so the King of Aram and his men plotted and plotted..the best place to ambush the Israelites to wipe them out heh heh. but everytime they did so, this certain man of God, the prophet Elisha, would always send word to the King of Israel, to warn him about the Arameans and their "hiding place". This happened so often that the King of Aram got peeved, so he sent horses,chariots and lots of men to find this Elisha and capture him.

the next morning, the servant of Elisha woke up, and saw the great number of horses,chariots and men that surrounded the city that were here to capture Elisha. the servant got scared and asked Elisha "Oh my lord, what shall we do?" then Elisha said "Dont be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." i think at this point, Elisha's servant might have thought him crazy,because there were no chariots or horses or men that were on Elisha's side at this time. then Elisha prayed.."O Lord, open his eyes,so he may see." then the Lord opened the servant's eyes so that he may see. and he did. and he saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

this story,from 2 Kings 6:8-17, offers a rare glimpse into the "invisible world" of the supernatural realm. God has resources to help us that we cannot see! isn't that amazing? also, my purpose of sharing this story with you,is to show you how real the supernatural realm is.

What to do with those negative, frustrating and depressive thoughts?
ok,so now that you know the supernatural realm is real, what next? what's this gotta do with those frustrating and depressive thoughts?

Picture yourself in the battlefield of the spiritual realm. that's where you are every single day. well, did it ever occur to you that those frustrating and depressive thoughts are flaming arrows from satan? this is just one of his ways to try and bring you down! and at this point, that's where the armour of God comes in, doh!

check out what my Life Application bible says. "Beneath the surface of the routine of daily life, a fierce struggle among invisible spiritual powers is being waged.Our main defense is PRAYER that God will protect us from the evil one and that He will strengthen us." so PRAY. pray for the blood of Jesus to cover your thoughts and mind. PRAY and command those frustrating and depressing thoughts OUT OF YOUR MIND in Jesus's name because you are not unaware of satan's schemes, and these thoughts have no place in your life as a child of God! satan knows your weak spots. if you're emotional, he'll shoot those sad thoughts at you.. if you're hot tempered, he'll shoot you some angry thoughts. but stand strong! let us do as the Word says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ! so guard your thoughts, shoot down any thoughts that are deceiving and from satan, even before they have a chance to become comfortable in your head! it's an active part for you to play, daily. you'll get used to it and it'll become 2nd nature to you after some practise :)

Persevere! Keep praying! Stand firm against spiritual warfare now.
satan doesnt want us to pray. he knows that when we pray, there is POWER. he will do everything he can to stop you from praying. i'm sure you've experienced those moments, when it's time to pray..you start getting sleepy, and somehow your body gravitates towards the bed.. you try to pray..yes you try..Dear Lord..zzzzz. haha. that's spiritual warfare,my friend!

Persevere! that's what the armour is there for, it helps us to persevere, keep praying, don't let satan have even half a squat of a chance to form a smirk on his face!
and if you haven't been praying, start :) 5 minutes today. try it.

show satan you're no pushover. realize your identity. you are a child of the Most High God.
start praying.

Prayer pointers for the camp and campers.

1. A sense of wonderment
Most of us are too "grown up" and jaded for our own good. whatever happened to wonderment? A sense of wonderment leads to a greater appreciation of the Creator and the awesomeness of His creations. Go on. wonder about that bolt of lightning. and the greenness of that patch of grass. and how did He make the evening sky look like that anyway?

2. A heart and mind that's increasingly centred on God and quick to remember His love and the wonderful Cross
Pray that the campers will become increasingly God conscious starting from now. That until and unless they find Him, their hearts will burn. Pray that this God consciousness will show up in their lives, through the way they behave to their family, friends, even strangers. Also, pray that campers will be quick to remember the extent of the Father's love for them (which culminates at the Cross!). Once you remember how much you're loved by the Almighty, how precious He holds you in His sight, satan can only slink away defeated. heh. hard to fight a child of the Most High God who knows his Father (who is God, in case it wasn't clear yet.) loves him la. REMEMBER HIS UNFAILING LOVE & THE WONDERFUL CROSS!

3. Campers that pray..because they love.
Pray for this blog, the contributors and the prayer committee. Pray that thru this blog, campers will gain a deeper heart understanding of prayer. Pray for wisdom and sensitivity to the Spirit,that as the contributors share, the campers' hearts will be moved by the precious Holy Spirit. That eventually, we will all come to understand that we have a heart to pray, that's borne out of love for the King.

4. Spread the love..pray for your camp com
Prayer pointers/requests from the camp com.
Amelia:
-Good rest/ Physical health
-I am also attending a bible course on Addictions Counselling @ East Asia School of Theology - pray that I will have strength to absorb new information during the lessons every weekday night (until next wednesday- 26Oct).
-Pray for me as I continue to make 1-min prayer/announcement @ this saturday's YPM service.
-Pray for me as I join the YPMS classes on Sunday to do more publicity for the camp to the sec1s & sec2s.
-Pray for campers to register for the camp quickly (and in so doing, encourage the camp committee).

Aaron:
Pray for leaders that can impact the groups in the camps, and for proactive members who are able to rise to the occasion to use their abilities to participate

Calvin:
Pray for safety, health, fun and focus during work in Aussie. And also that his family will not be so worried.

Eeling:
Pray for the campers, that the reason they come is God Himself, and that their hearts are right.

Isaac Yeo:
-Pray for the P6s Spiritual milk class, that they can gel well and break the “boys stick with the boys” and “girls stick with the girls” pattern. Also that they will know that there is only ONE true God in their lives.
-Pray that I can find time to complete posters for the camp and have ideas and creativity in doing so.

Why pray?
because prayer shifts our focus to God

there are so many times in our lives when we get so caught up in our problems..they're all we see. exams looming..can't seem to pass that wretched subject. ("i tell you! you don't do well in your Os/As, that's IT. you have NO FUTURE!!!") ..confusing relationships.."how come he hasn't msged me today. does he like me? he doesn't like me! i'm sure he doesn't like me!! -wail-")..perhaps family/financial issues. the world is seemingly bleak and the animals are going crazy.

how now?! look left, look right..things are just not looking good.
ever thought of looking up?

let me share with you something i've learnt that i will never forget.
remember when Jesus walked on water? Matthew 14:25-33

Jesus was walking on water and the disciples were afraid.that was completely understandable. i mean WHO walks on water?! then Peter said, "Lord, if that's you, bid me come!" and Jesus said, "Come." so, with his eyes on Jesus, Peter climbed out of the boat..and then he did the impossible. He walked on water.

at that time, the winds were blowing and howling, and that got Peter's attention. man, he was scared. then he started to sink..."Lord, save me!" and immediately, Jesus reached out and caught him.."You of little faith, why did you doubt?"

i think by now, in all thirteen.....fifteen...eighteen years of your life, you would know that these storms do come. satan will make the winds howl and blow. but will you believe me when i say that when you keep your eyes on Jesus, no matter how loudly the wind howls or how frightening the storm is, you will be able to do what the world cannot? when the storm comes, the world's natural reaction is to hide, whimper, cry..and admit defeat. when you look to Jesus, you can rise above that, and do the supernatural. when you look to Him, you find that you are above your fears and troubles.with such peace too.
Jesus asked Peter, "why did you doubt?" doubt is taking your eyes off Jesus.

so how do i keep my eyes on Jesus? stare at a poster of Jesus on my wall the whole day? keep a picture of Him in my wallet and whip it out to stare at it when i'm in need? no la (:

one of the ways we keep our eyes on Jesus, is to pray! when we pray, it shifts our focus off of ourselves and back to God. when your focus is on God, you realize your troubles are sooo tiny, in comparison to how good God is. i've experienced this so many,many times.and the cool psalmist guy in Psalm 77 did too! (i've hyperlinked the verses, don't be lazy,just click! haha.) as you read the psalm, you will realize that he starts off by expressing his distress and requests to God, but from verses 13-20 onwards, the "I" factor is gone..and he stops thinking about himself and starts worshipping God..and finally, in verse 20, he is no longer distressed, and he no longer doubts that God will indeed care and provide for him.
When you pray, God shifts your focus to Him.

you try (:
i've no doubt that when you turn your eyes to Jesus and pray instead of focusing on your troubles, you will have an increasing wonder of our beautiful God and your troubles will seem so small.

A Call to Prayer 4

Hey ppl.. Been saying small and precise prayers to the Lord?... Let us take some time to reflect on any answered prayer and any proof of God's loving and good nature..

Philippians 4:6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Thanksgiving and prayer go hand in hand...

Thanksgiving shows where your heart was in the first place when you said that prayer, Thanksgiving opens up the heavens to more blessings and answered prayers. Lets's take time to thank Him right now.

Prayer Requests

1) That the people of YPM will seek the father's face not His hand. That we will be a people who thanks Him continually.

2) Strength and Wisdom for Amelia as she leads the camp committee. pray for grace, wisdom and anointing to carry out responsibilities (e.g. announcements) well. She's also had a hectic week with camp and office related stuff...pray for rest and peace!

3) to everyone out there who's still having exams... Hang in there! May we all draw strength from Him and let us all experience Him in our lives in any way He chooses - IZ Yeo

4) Words of Samson Fu (Last year's camp chairman): I'm inspired by the prayer bookmark and that glory will descend from heaven when our knees are to the earth. Let's go with great expectation and continue to pray!

5) Words of Aaron Tay (this year's camp vice chairman): "This camp is quite like the sequel to the previous.. The Lord has already started the work, and more will be done thru this camp. it's a time which we set aside for Him and ourselves. Nothing else matters. Not the place, chairman, games, etc. only Him. Many dun realise this . So we need to be conscious Christians and not slumber in our fantasies."

6) That we will be Christians with hearts TOTALLY committed to Him

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. .... -2Chron 16:9

Not 50%.. no not 75%.. Not even 99%.. All our hearts!!!

7) Matto: Faith and Expectancy for the camp. reality and clarity of the vision for the camp.

Oh lastly.. Pray for me..! I'll be going to Aussie.. ha pray for safety,peace and a closer relationship with Him. Pray that the worship and prayer sub comms will prosper. Pray for Guang Hao.. who's taking over the prayer sub comm, shumin the blog, and also samson hu's humbly and willingly accepted to help with worship.. I thank God for these guys and all back home in Singapore. Be missing u guys and u will be in my thoughts and prayers constanly!! Peace be with you...

The God Who Hears

15 When the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the bushes. 16 Then she went off and sat down nearby, about a bowshot away, for she thought, "I cannot watch the boy die." And as she sat there nearby, she began to sob.
17 God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, "What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. 18 Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation."
19 Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink. -GEN 21:15-19

Before this incident Hagar had already been chased out of Abraham's house once because she was despised by Sarah. But this time it was final.
Alone, With a child, without food or water. Feeling helpless and hopeless. She went on her way with no aim except to survive. No direction except away from Abraham's household.
At her most desperate, she left her son Ishmael because she could not bear to watch him die, she would soon die too of exhaustion and dehydration.
But the Lord was true to the covenant He made with Abraham, and He was true to His nature. Ishmael means God hears. And when Ishmael cried out. The Lord made a way out for the mother and son by providing a well of water.

God is a God who hears us!!!

sometimes it may seem like our prayers hit skies made of steel..
No... We Speak to a God who hears us, and is more than willing to help us even in our lowest valleys, in our deserts. When all hope seems to be gone. Trust in HIm and call out to Him for that well of water in any situation.... All glory goes to Him!

"I am convinced that when God's people fast with a proper Biblical motive-seeking God's face not His hand-with a broken, repentant, and contrite spirit, God will hear from heaven and heal our lives, our churches, our communities, our nation and world. Hey hey...
I'm sorry dun wish to bombard u with too much info and stuff. But this is really cool stuff...
When we pray we are seeking the face of God.
“To seek the face”- is to seek an audience with a prince or with God, to seek favor.
when we pray we are seeking God's face.. not His hand..
How many times have i treated God like a vending machine. Have i ever taken time to know Him. To seek an audience with my Father, King, Friend.. To seek His favour. Unmerited and undeserved favour.

From today onwards i shall change the approach of my prayer...
"Lord i want to know you. your heart, character and may i receve unmerited favour from you O Lord. I wan to know u because i love u and cos i am a child of the most high"

Let us seek His face together... =)

Hi guys,
Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice... Ever had times you woke up early in the morning and just could not return to your peaceful slumber? Often it's just a little while (say half an hour before ur actual waking time).
Psalm 5:3In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

Could it be the Lord motivating u to pray. =).. I've found that more often than not it is.How often i've pushed the snooze button on the Lord. And found that during the day i was so powerless, weak, ineffecient in the admin tasks that i have to do in camp.

A while back i decided to break through the weakness of the flesh and set my heart and mind on God.. It was a feeble first attempt, I was semi dozing as i came to the Lord with thanksgiving, supplication, adoration, confession.. HahA.. But he graciously accepted my prayers.

And u noe wad. That day was the most peaceful i had felt in the longest of time. My heart was set on things above. And yet i was focused on the tasks i needed to do. I did them heartily, quickly and efficiently. All this in spite of a very trying period of time in my life.God is so good and gracious. Let me bring these few points to u of the importance of prayer courtesy of Pastor Kong Hee (City Harvest Church). Here they are:

1)Prayer Opens the Heavens Over Me
2)Prayer Brings Down the Presence of The Holy Spirit to Me
3)Prayer Makes Me More Like God
4)Prayer Breaks the Stubborness of My Rebellious Flesh
5)Prayer Releases the Power of God into My LIfe

God is good. The question we should ask ourselves is not whether God can be found, but rather how willing we are to seek Him.

Hi guys..
Been learning from ppl ard and from this book by pastor Cho Yonggi. The importance of making specific prayers. It is powerful when u see the Lord answer all the little and specific prayers. Dun forget to give thanks to Him when u do receive an answer. =)

this week let us pray:
1) For any root of unforgiveness or bitterness to be broken. That the Lord will bring healing, restoration and peace and unity once again to YPM. That any arguments will be torn down by the blood of Jesus Christ. That parties involved will treat each other in humility and love.

2) Pray that despite the environmental changes, our bodies will be in tip top condition, full of energy to serve the Lord.HAha. Specifically pray for fevers, coughs, and dengue fever.

Psalm 91:7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

may we stand upon this truth and priviledge.

REZOLUTION CAMP

3) Saturday Amelia is going up to speak. Pray for confidence, love and trust in the Lord as she speaks.

4) She is gonna speak specifically abt fear in the hearts of the members in regards to the SU campsite. Let us pray for release from fear, we are no longer slaves to fear. For He has given us the authority Luke 10:19

5) Pray for expectancy inthe hearts of YPMers. that they will learn to expect God, and desire to learn so much from Him thrugh the camp that they will make the effort and have the desire to come.

6) Pray for camp comm who are concurrently working/studying and serving the Lord. That He may grant us good time management and cool ideas.
esp. IZ Yeo. doing up registration form. Has difficulty doing it in camp.
calvin who's going aussie soon, that he may finish the tasks he's supposed to do.

Prayer is communication. And communication is necessary for every relationship i our lives.. So when we come to God in prayer. Who are we communicating to?

A King

Mighty Creator, God,King of all Kings. When we come to Him we are coming to an all powerful God, but at the same time He is also loving and compassionate. He is good. When can ome to Him in full assurance that He is more than ABLE to help you in anything, and He is also more than WILLING to. Praise be to the Most High.

A Friend

A friend in time of need is a friend indeed. Ever had friends who left you or were not around in your most difficult times. Jesus will never do that.

Hey guys...
Welcome back once again.. =).. Just wanna share..
You know this year the Lord has been time and time again putting these words into my heart. This year is gonna be the year of "the promise"...
Whatever it means to each of us individually. This year is gonna be the year...let's rejoice and believe that something great is gonna happen this year.

Prayer Pointers
1) Let us pray this week for Expectant Hearts for all our YPMers with regards to the camp. That as we put our hope and faith in the Lord, we will see great things happen in our lives,and in our church.
That as we wait on the Lord, He will pour out His love and His anointing, and His favour will shine upon us.

1)Pray for unity within the camp comm, Focus, Energy and Joy, pray that we will keep each other in thought and prayer constantly.

2)Pray for the Faith target (no. of campers) which God has given to Amelia.That the Lord will meet, and exceed that number.

3)Pray for camp committee members who have needs, emotional, academic,spiritual that the Lord will be more than enough for their individual situations.

Unity is what it is...
1 Corinthians 12:13 we are the body of Christ.

When we pray in unity, There is POWER...God can move mountains, but prayer can move the heart of God...

For this week, let us pray for unity. (Phil 2:1) That We will be united in purpose, spirit, mind, and in love.

Welcome to the YPM Rezolution Camp Prayer Link!
So happy that you even bothered to take a peek at this blog thing... Well it's a start isn't is? By now you should have known that we are going to have a YPM camp in Sentosa at the end of the year. (Yes we are!..)..And we need to pray.
In case you have not heard about it. look here.

No not just the camp committee..
No not just the leaders .. EVERYONE needs to pray!

Why Link?
You may ask... Because this is THE place in which we link 2 very important groups of people. The people with prayer needs, and people who can pray for the people with prayer needs. But the truth is that at any point in time, you and I fall into both categories at the same time. So we are doubly important!!!

Also by being involved in praying for the camp and YPM in general you become a chain link in the already humongous chain which binds the works of the evil one in Jesus' name.

How do i get started?
All you have to do is to be willing to pray, and if you do not know what to pray for, stay tuned to this blog for the most updated prayer requests.
